1 And Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. Asa his son succeeded him as king, and in his days the country was at peace for ten years.
1 아비야가 그의 조상들과 함께 누우매 다윗 성에 장사되고 그의 아들 아사가 대신 하여 왕이 되니 그의 시대에 그의 땅이 십 년 동안 평안하니라
1. 亞比雅與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裏。他兒子亞撒接續他作王。亞撒年間，國中太平十年。
2 Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God.
2 아사가 그의 하나님 여호와 보시기에 선과 정의를 행하여
2. 亞撒行耶和華─他神眼中看爲善爲正的事，
3 He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles.
3 이방 제단과 산당을 없애고 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 상을 찍고
3. 除掉外邦神的壇和邱壇，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，
4 He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to obey his laws and commands.
4 유다 사람에게 명하여 그 조상들의 하나님 여호와를 찾게 하며 그의 율법과 명령을 행하게 하고
4. 吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華─他們列祖的神，遵行他的律法、誡命；
5 He removed the high places and incense altars in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him.
5 또 유다 모든 성읍에서 산당과 태양상을 없애매 나라가 그 앞에서 평안함을 누리라
5. 又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；
6 He built up the fortified cities of Judah, since the land was at peace. No one was at war with him during those years, for the LORD gave him rest.
6 여호와께서 아사에게 평안을 주셨으므로 그 땅이 평안하여 여러 해 싸움이 없는지라 그가 견고한 성읍들을 유다에 건축하니라
6. 又在猶大建造了幾座堅固城。國中太平數年，沒有戰爭，因爲耶和華賜他平安。
7 "Let us build up these towns," he said to Judah, "and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.
7 아사가 일찍이 유다 사람에게 이르되 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와를 찾았으므로 이 땅이 아직 우리 앞에 있나니 우리가 이 성읍들을 건축하고 그 주위에 성곽과 망대와 문과 빗장을 만들자 우리가 주를 찾았으므로 주께서 우리 사방에 평안을 주셨느니라 하고 이에 그들이 성읍을 형통하게 건축하였더라
7. 他對猶大人說：我們要建造這些城邑，四圍築牆，蓋樓，安門，作閂；地還屬我們，是因尋求耶和華─我們的神我們旣尋求他，他就賜我們四境平安。於是建造城邑，事亨通。
8 Asa had an army of three hundred thousand men from Judah, equipped with large shields and with spears, and two hundred and eighty thousand from Benjamin, armed with small shields and with bows. All these were brave fighting men.
8 아사의 군대는 유다 중에서 큰 방패와 창을 잡는 자가 삼십만 명이요 베냐민 중에서 작은 방패를 잡으며 활을 당기는 자가 이십팔만 명이라 그들은 다 큰 용사였더라
8. 亞撒的軍兵，出自猶大拿盾牌拿槍的三十萬人；出自便雅憫拿盾牌拉弓的二十八萬人。這都是大能的勇士。
9 Zerah the Cushite marched out against them with a vast army and three hundred chariots, and came as far as Mareshah.
9 구스 사람 세라가 그들을 치려 하여 군사 백만 명과 병거 삼백 대를 거느리고 마레사에 이르매
9. 有古實王謝拉率領軍兵一百萬，戰車三百輛，出來攻擊猶大人，到了瑪利沙。
10 Asa went out to meet him, and they took up battle positions in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah.
10 아사가 마주 나가서 마레사의 스바다 골짜기에 전열을 갖추고
10. 於是亞撒出去與他迎敵，就在瑪利沙的洗法谷彼此擺陣。
11 Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. O LORD, you are our God; do not let man prevail against you."
11 아사가 그의 하나님 여호와께 부르짖어 이르되 여호와여 힘이 강한 자와 약한 자 사이에는 주 밖에 도와 줄 이가 없사오니 우리 하나님 여호와여 우리를 도우소서 우리가 주를 의지하오며 주의 이름을 의탁하옵고 이 많은 무리를 치러 왔나이다 여호와여 주는 우리 하나님이시오니 원하건대 사람이 주를 이기지 못하게 하옵소서 하였더니
11. 亞撒呼求耶和華─他的神說：耶和華阿，惟有你能幇助軟弱的，勝過强盛的。耶和華─我們的神阿，求你幇助我；因爲我們仰賴你，奉你的名來攻擊這大軍。耶和華阿你是我們的神，不要容人勝過你。
12 The LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled,
12 여호와께서 구스 사람들을 아사와 유다 사람들 앞에서 치시니 구스 사람들이 도망하는지라
12. 於是耶和華使古實人敗在亞撒和猶大人面前，古實人就逃跑了；
13 and Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. Such a great number of Cushites fell that they could not recover; they were crushed before the LORD and his forces. The men of Judah carried off a large amount of plunder.
13 아사와 그와 함께 한 백성이 구스 사람들을 추격하여 그랄까지 이르매 이에 구스 사람들이 엎드러지고 살아 남은 자가 없었으니 이는 여호와 앞에서와 그의 군대 앞에서 패망하였음이라 노략한 물건이 매우 많았더라
13. 亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的甚多，不能再强盛，因爲敗在耶和華與他軍兵面前。大人就奪了許多財物，
14 They destroyed all the villages around Gerar, for the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They plundered all these villages, since there was much booty there.
14 여호와께서 그랄 사면 모든 성읍 백성을 두렵게 하시니 무리가 그의 모든 성읍을 치고 그 가운데에 있는 많은 물건을 노략하고
14. 又打破基拉耳四圍的城邑；耶和華使其中的人都甚恐懼。猶大人又將所有的城擄掠一空，因其中的財物甚多，
15 They also attacked the camps of the herdsmen and carried off droves of sheep and goats and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
15 또 짐승 지키는 천막을 치고 양과 낙타를 많이 이끌고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔더라
15. 又毁壞了群畜的圈，奪取許多的羊和駱駝，就回耶路撒冷去了。
