1 The LORD said to Moses,
1 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되
1. 耶和華曉諭摩西說：
2 "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders."
2 사람을 보내어 내가 이스라엘 자손에게 주는 가나안 땅을 정탐하게 하되 그들의 조상의 가문 각 지파 중에서 지휘관 된 자 한 사람씩 보내라
2. 你打發人去窺探我所賜給以色列人的迦南地，他們每支派中要打發一個人，都要作首領的。
3 So at the LORD'S command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.
3 모세가 여호와의 명령을 따라 바란 광야에서 그들을 보냈으니 그들은 다 이스라엘 자손의 수령 된 사람이라
3. 摩西就照耶和華的吩咐從巴蘭的曠野打發他們去；他們都是以色列人的族長。
4 These are their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;
4 그들의 이름은 이러하니라 르우벤 지파에서는 삭굴의 아들 삼무아요
4. 他們的名字：屬流便支派的有撒刻的的兒子沙母亞。
5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;
5 시므온 지파에서는 호리의 아들 사밧이요
5. 屬西緬支派的有何利的兒子的沙法。
6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
6 유다 지파에서는 여분네의 아들 갈렙이요
6. 屬猶大支派的有耶孚尼的兒子迦勒。
7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
7 잇사갈 지파에서는 요셉의 아들 이갈이요
7. 屬以薩迦支派的有約色的兒子以迦。
8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;
8 에브라임 지파에서는 눈의 아들 호세아요
8. 屬以法蓮支派的有嫩的兒子何希阿。
9 from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
9 베냐민 지파에서는 라부의 아들 발디요
9. 屬便雅憫支派的有拉孚的兒子帕提。
10 from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
10 스불론 지파에서는 소디의 아들 갓디엘이요
10. 屬西布倫支派的有梭底的兒子迦疊。
11 from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;
11 요셉 지파 곧 므낫세 지파에서는 수시의 아들 갓디요
11. 約瑟的子孫，屬瑪拿西支派的有穌西的兒子迦底。
12 from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
12 단 지파에서는 그말리의 아들 암미엘이요
12. 屬但支派的有基瑪利的兒子亞米利。
13 from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
13 아셀 지파에서는 미가엘의 아들 스둘이요
13. 屬亞設支派的有米迦勒的兒子西帖。
14 from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
14 납달리 지파에서는 웝시의 아들 나비요
14. 屬拿弗他利支派的有縛西的兒子拿比。
15 from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Maki.
15 갓 지파에서는 마기의 아들 그우엘이니
15. 屬迦得支派的有瑪基的兒子臼利。
16 These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.)
16 이는 모세가 땅을 정탐하러 보낸 자들의 이름이라 모세가 눈의 아들 호세아를 여호수아라 불렀더라
16. 這就是摩西所打發、窺探那地之人的名字。摩西就稱嫩的兒子何希阿爲約書亞。
17 When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, "Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country.
17 모세가 가나안 땅을 정탐하러 그들을 보내며 이르되 너희는 네겝 길로 행하여 산지로 올라가서
17. 摩西打發他們去窺探迦南地，說：你們從南地上山地去，
18 See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many.
18 그 땅이 어떠한지 정탐하라 곧 그 땅 거민이 강한지 약한지 많은지 적은지와
18. 看那地如何，其中所住的民是强是弱，是多是少，
19 What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified?
19 그들이 사는 땅이 좋은지 나쁜지와 사는 성읍이 진영인지 산성인지와
19. 所住之地是好是歹，所住之處是營盤是堅城。
20 How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land." (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)
20 토지가 비옥한지 메마른지 나무가 있는지 없는지를 탐지하라 담대하라 또 그 땅의 실과를 가져 오라 하니 그 때는 포도가 처음 익을 즈음이었더라
20. 又看那地土是肥美是瘠薄，其中有樹木沒有。你們要放開膽量，把那地的果子帶些來。（那時正是葡萄初熟的時。）
21 So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath.
21 이에 그들이 올라가서 땅을 정탐하되 신 광야에서부터 하맛 어귀 르흡에 이르렀고
21. 他們上去窺探那地，從尋的曠野到利合，直到哈馬口。
22 They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
22 또 네겝으로 올라가서 헤브론에 이르렀으니 헤브론은 애굽 소안 보다 칠 년 전에 세운 곳이라 그 곳에 아낙 자손 아히만과 세새와 달매가 있었더라
22. 他們從南地上去，到了希伯崙；在那裏有亞衲族人亞希幔、示篩、撻買。原來希伯崙城被建造比埃及的鎖安城早年。）
23 When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.
23 또 에스골 골짜기에 이르러 거기서 포도송이가 달린 가지를 베어 둘이 막대기에 꿰어 메고 또 석류와 무화과를 따니라
23. 他們到了以實各谷，從那裏砍了葡萄樹的一枝，上頭有一挂葡萄，兩個人用杠抬著，又帶了些石榴和無花果來。
24 That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there.
24 이스라엘 자손이 거기서 포도를 베었으므로 그 곳을 에스골 골짜기라 불렀더라
24. 因爲以色列人從那裏砍來的那挂葡萄，所以那地方叫作以實各谷。）
25 At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.
25 사십 일 동안 땅을 정탐하기를 마치고 돌아와
25. 過了四十天，他們窺探那地纔回來，
26 They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.
26 바란 광야 가데스에 이르러 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중에게 나아와 그들에게 보고하고 그 땅의 과일을 보이고
26. 到了巴蘭曠野的加低斯，見摩西、亞倫，並以色列的全會衆，回報摩西、亞倫，並全會衆，又把那地的果子給他看；
27 They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit.
27 모세에게 말하여 이르되 당신이 우리를 보낸 땅에 간즉 과연 그 땅에 젖과 꿀이 흐르는데 이것은 그 땅의 과일이니이다
27. 又告訴摩西說：我們到了你所打發我們去的那地，果然是流奶與蜜之地；這就是那地的果子。
28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.
28 그러나 그 땅 거주민은 강하고 성읍은 견고하고 심히 클 뿐 아니라 거기서 아낙 자손을 보았으며
28. 然而住那地的民强壯，城邑也堅固寬大，並且我們在那裏看見了亞衲族的人。
29 The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan."
29 아말렉인은 남방 땅에 거주하고 헷인과 여부스인과 아모리인은 산지에 거주하고 가나안인은 해변과 요단 가에 거주하더이다
29. 亞瑪力人住在南地；赫人、耶布斯人、亞摩利人住在山地；迦南人住在海邊並約但河旁。
30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."
30 갈렙이 모세 앞에서 백성을 조용하게 하고 이르되 우리가 곧 올라가서 그 땅을 취하자 능히 이기리라 하나
30. 迦勒在摩西面前安撫百姓，說：我們立刻上去得那地罷！我們足能得勝。
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."
31 그와 함께 올라갔던 사람들은 이르되 우리는 능히 올라가서 그 백성을 치지 못하리라 그들은 우리보다 강하니라 하고
31. 但那些和他同去的人說：我們不能上去攻擊那民，因爲他們比我們强壯。
32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
32 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 그 정탐한 땅을 악평하여 이르되 우리가 두루 다니며 정탐한 땅은 그 거주민을 삼키는 땅이요 거기서 본 모든 백성은 신장이 장대한 자들이며
32. 探子中有人論到所窺探之地，向以色列人報惡信，說：我們所窺探、經過之地是呑喫居民之地，我們在那裏所看的人民都身量高大。
33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."
33 거기서 네피림 후손인 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보았나니 우리는 스스로 보기에도 메뚜기 같으니 그들이 보기에도 그와 같았을 것이니라
33. 我們在那裏看見亞衲族人，就是偉人；他們是偉人的後裔。據我們看，自己就如蚱蜢一樣；據他們看，我們也是此。
