1 "Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment.
1 섬들아 내 앞에 잠잠하라 민족들아 힘을 새롭게 하라 가까이 나아오라 그리고 말하라 우리가 서로 재판 자리에 가까이 나아가자
1. 衆海島阿，當在我面前靜黙；衆民當從新得力，都要近前來纔可以說話，我們可以彼此辯論。
2 "Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow.
2 누가 동방에서 사람을 일깨워서 공의로 그를 불러 자기 발 앞에 이르게 하였느냐 열국을 그의 앞에 넘겨주며 그가 왕들을 다스리게 하되 그들이 그의 칼에 티끌 같게, 그의 활에 불리는 초개 같게 하매
2. 誰從東方興起一人，憑公義召他來到脚前呢？耶和華將列國交給他，使他管轄君王，把他們如灰塵交與他的刀，風吹的碎■交與他的弓。
3 He pursues them and moves on unscathed, by a path his feet have not traveled before.
3 그가 그들을 쫓아가서 그의 발로 가 보지 못한 길을 안전히 지났나니
3. 他追趕他們，走他所未走的道，坦然前行。
4 Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD--with the first of them and with the last--I am he."
4 이 일을 누가 행하였느냐 누가 이루었느냐 누가 처음부터 만대를 불러내었느냐 나 여호와라 처음에도 나요 나중 있을 자에게도 내가 곧 그니라
4. 誰行作成就這事，從起初宣召歷代呢？就是我─耶和華！我是首先的，也與末後的同在。
5 The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward;
5 섬들이 보고 두려워하며 땅 끝이 무서워 떨며 함께 모여 와서
5. 海島看見就都害怕；地極也都戰兢，就近前來。
6 each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!"
6 각기 이웃을 도우며 그 형제에게 이르기를 너는 힘을 내라 하고
6. 他們各人幇助鄰舍，各人對弟兄說：壯膽罷！
7 The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer spurs on him who strikes the anvil. He says of the welding, "It is good." He nails down the idol so it will not topple.
7 목공은 금장색을 격려하며 망치로 고르게 하는 자는 메질꾼을 격려하며 이르되 땜질이 잘 된다 하니 그가 못을 단단히 박아 우상을 흔들리지 아니하게 하는도다
7. 木匠勉勵銀匠，用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，論銲工說，銲得好；又用釘子釘穩，免得偶像動搖。
8 "But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,
8 그러나 나의 종 너 이스라엘아 내가 택한 야곱아 나의 벗 아브라함의 자손아
8. 惟你以色列─我的僕人，雅各─我所揀選的，我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔，
9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
9 내가 땅 끝에서부터 너를 붙들며 땅 모퉁이에서부터 너를 부르고 네게 이르기를 너는 나의 종이라 내가 너를 택하고 싫어하여 버리지 아니하였다 하였노라
9. 你是我從地極所領（原文是抓）來的，從地角所召來的，且對你說：你是我的僕人；我揀選你，並不棄絶你。
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
10 두려워 하지 말라 내가 너와 함께 함이라 놀라지 말라 나는 네 하나님이 됨이라 내가 너를 굳세게 하리라 참으로 너를 도와 주리라 참으로 나의 의로운 오른손으로 너를 붙들리라
10. 你不要害怕，因爲我與你同在；不要驚惶，因爲我是你的神。我必堅固你，我必幇助你；我必用我公義的右手扶你。
11 "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
11 보라 네게 노하던 자들이 수치와 욕을 당할 것이요 너와 다투는 자들이 아무것도 아닌 것 같이 될 것이며 멸망할 것이라
11. 凡向你發怒的必都抱愧蒙羞；與你相爭的必如無有，並要滅亡。
12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
12 네가 찾아도 너와 싸우던 자들을 만나지 못할 것이요 너를 치는 자들은 아무것도 아닌 것 같고 허무한 것 같이 되리니
12. 與你爭競的，你要找他們也找不著；與你爭戰的必如無有，成爲虛無。
13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
13 이는 나 여호와 너의 하나님이 네 오른손을 붙들고 네게 이르기를 두려워하지 말라 내가 너를 도우리라 할 것임이니라
13. 因爲我耶和華─你的神必攙扶你的右手，對你說：不要害怕！我必幇助你。
14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you," declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
14 버러지 같은 너 야곱아, 너희 이스라엘 사람들아 두려워하지 말라 나 여호와가 말하노니 내가 너를 도울 것이라 네 구속자는 이스라엘의 거룩한 이이니라
14. 你這蟲雅各和你們以色列人，不要害怕！耶和華說：我必幇助你。你的救贖主就是以色列的聖者。
15 "See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.
15 보라 내가 너로 이가 날카로운 새 타작기로 삼으리니 네가 산들을 쳐서 부스러기를 만들 것이며 작은 산들을 겨 같이 만들 것이라
15. 看那，我已使你成爲有快齒打糧的新器具；你要把山嶺打得粉碎，使岡陵如同糠秕。
16 You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the LORD and glory in the Holy One of Israel.
16 네가 그들을 까부른즉 바람이 그들을 날리겠고 회리바람이 그들을 흩어 버릴 것이로되 너는 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하겠고 이스라엘의 거룩한 자로 말미암아 자랑하리라
16. 你要把他簸揚，風要吹去；旋風要把他颳散。你倒要以耶和華爲喜樂，以色列的聖者爲誇耀。
17 "The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
17 가련하고 가난한 자가 물을 구하되 물이 없어서 갈증으로 그들의 혀가 마를 때에 나 여호와가 그들에게 응답하겠고 나 이스라엘의 하나님이 그들을 버리지 아니할 것이라
17. 困苦窮乏人尋求水卻沒有；他們因口渴，舌頭乾燥。我─耶和華必應允他們；我─以色列的神必不離棄他們。
18 I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
18 내가 헐벗은 산에 강을 내며 골짜기 가운데 샘이 나게 하며 광야가 못이 되게 하며 마른 땅이 샘 근원이 되게 할 것이며
18. 我要在淨光的高處開江河，在谷中開泉源；我要使沙漠變爲水池，使乾地變爲湧泉。
19 I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
19 내가 광야에는 백향목과 싯딤 나무와 화석류와 들감람나무를 심고 사막에는 잣나무와 소나무와 황양목을 함께 두리니
19. 我要在曠野種上香柏樹、皂莢樹、番石榴樹，和野橄欖樹。我在沙漠要把松樹、杉樹，並黃楊樹一同栽植；
20 so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
20 무리가 보고 여호와의 손이 지은 바요 이스라엘의 거룩한 이가 이것을 창조하신 바인 줄 알며 함께 헤아리며 깨달으리라
20. 好叫人看見、知道、思想、明白；這是耶和華的手所作的，是以色列的聖者所造的。
21 "Present your case," says the LORD. "Set forth your arguments," says Jacob's King.
21 나 여호와가 말하노니 너희 우상들은 소송하라 야곱의 왕이 말하노니 너희는 확실한 증거를 보이라
21. 耶和華對假神說：你們要呈上你們的案件；雅各的君說：你們要聲明你們確實的理由。
22 "Bring in your idols to tell us what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come,
22 장차 당할 일을 우리에게 진술하라 또 이전 일이 어떠한 것도 알게 하라 우리가 마음에 두고 그 결말을 알아보리라 혹 앞으로 올 일을 듣게 하며
22. 可以聲明，指示我們將來必遇的事，說明先前的是甚麽事，好叫我們思索，得知事的結局，或者把將來的事指示們。
23 tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad, so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.
23 뒤에 올 일을 알게 하라 그리하면 너희가 신들인 줄 우리가 알리라 또 복을 내리든지 재난을 내리든지 하라 우리가 함께 보고 놀라리라
23. 要說明後來的事，好叫我們知道你們是神。你們或降福，或降禍，使我們驚奇，一同觀看。
24 But you are less than nothing and your works are utterly worthless; he who chooses you is detestable.
24 보라 너희는 아무것도 아니며 너희 일은 허망하며 너희를 택한 자는 가증하니라
24. 看那，你們屬乎虛無；你們的作爲也屬乎虛空。那選擇你們的是可憎惡的。
25 "I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes--one from the rising sun who calls on my name. He treads on rulers as if they were mortar, as if he were a potter treading the clay.
25 내가 한 사람을 일으켜 북방에서 오게 하며 내 이름을 부르는 자를 해 돋는 곳에서 오게 하였나니 그가 이르러 고관들을 석회 같이, 토기장이가 진흙을 밟음 같이 하리니
25. 我從北方興起一人；他是求告我名的，從日出之地而來。他必臨到掌權的，好像臨到灰泥，彷彿窯匠踹泥一樣。
26 Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or beforehand, so we could say, 'He was right'? No one told of this, no one foretold it, no one heard any words from you.
26 누가 처음부터 이 일을 알게 하여 우리가 알았느냐 누가 이전부터 알게하여 우리가 옳다고 말하게 하였느냐 알게 하는 자도 없고 드려주는 자도 없고 너희 말을 듣는 자도 없도다
26. 誰從起初指明這事，使我們知道呢？誰從先前說明，使我們說他不錯呢？誰也沒有指戕^u誰也沒有說戕^u誰也沒聽見你們的話。
27 I was the first to tell Zion, 'Look, here they are!' I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good tidings.
27 내가 비로소 시온에게 너희는 이제 그들을 보라 하였노라 내가 기쁜 소식을 전할 자를 예루살렘에 주리라
27. 我首先對錫安說：看那，我要將一位報好信息的賜給耶路撒冷。
28 I look but there is no one--no one among them to give counsel, no one to give answer when I ask them.
28 내가 본즉 한 사람도 없으며 내가 물어도 그들 가운데 한 말도 대답할 조언자가 없도다
28. 我看的時候並沒有人；我問的時候，他們中間也沒有謀士可以回答一句。
29 See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion.
29 보라 그들은 다 헛되며 그들의 행사는 허무하며 그들이 부어 만든 우상들은 바람이요 공허한 것뿐이니라
29. 看那，他們和他們的工作都是虛空，且是虛無。他們所鑄的偶像都是風，都是虛的。
