욥기
1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
1 우스 땅에 욥이라 불리는 사람이 있었는데 그 사람은 온전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자더라
1. 烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯；那人完全正直，敬畏神，遠離惡事。
2 He had seven sons and three daughters,
2 그에게 아들 일곱과 딸 셋이 태어나니라
2. 他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。
3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
3 그의 소유물은 양이 칠천 마리요 낙타가 삼천 마리요 소가 오백 마리요 암나귀가 오백 마리이며 종도 많이 있었으니 이 사람은 동방 사람 중에 가장 훌륭한 자라
3. 他的家産有七千羊，三千駱駝，五百對牛，五百母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中就爲至大。
4 His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
4 그의 아들들이 자기 생일에 각각 자기의 집에서 잔치를 베풀고 그의 누이 세 명도 청하여 함께 먹고 마시더라
4. 他的兒子按著日子各在自己家裏設擺筵宴，就打發人去，請了他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同喫喝。
5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, "Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom.
5 그들이 차례대로 잔치를 끝내면 욥이 그들을 불러다가 성결하게 하되 아침에 일어나서 그들의 명수대로 번제를 드렸으니 이는 욥이 말하기를 혹시 내 아들들이 죄를 범하여 마음으로 하나님을 욕되게 하였을까 함이라
5. 筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他淸早起來，按著他們衆人的數目獻燔祭；因爲他說：恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉神。約伯常常這樣行。
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them.
6 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 섰고 사탄도 그들 가운데에 온지라
6. 有一天，神的衆子來侍立在耶和華面前，撒但也來在其中。
7 The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
7 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 땅을 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀왔나이다
7. 耶和華問撒但說：你從那裏來？撒但回答說：我從地上走來走去，往返而來。
8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
8 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 주의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 온전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자는 세상에 없느니라
8. 耶和華問撒但說：你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他完全正直，敬畏神，遠離惡事。
9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.
9 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 욥이 어찌 까닭 없이 하나님을 경외하리이까
9. 撒但回答耶和華說：約伯敬畏神，豈是無故呢？
10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
10 주께서 그와 그의 집과 그의 모든 소유물을 울타리로 두르심 때문이 아니니이까 주께서 그의 손으로 하는 바를 복되게 하사 그의 소유물이 땅에 넘치게 하셨음이니이다
10. 你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，並他一切所有的麽？他手所作的都蒙你賜福；他的家産也在地上增多。
11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."
11 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 모든 소유물을 치소서 그리하시면 틀림없이 주를 향하여 욕하지 않겠나이까
11. 你且伸手燬他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。
12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
12 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 내가 그의 소유물을 다 네 손에 맡기노라 다만 그의 몸에는 네 손을 대지 말지니라 사탄이 곧 여호와 앞에서 물러가니라
12. 耶和華對撒但說：凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。
13 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
13 하루는 욥의 자녀들이 그 맏아들의 집에서 음식을 먹으며 포도주를 마실 때에
13. 有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏喫飯喝酒，
14 a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby,
14 사환이 욥에게 와서 아뢰되 소는 밭을 갈고 나귀는 그 곁에서 풀을 먹는데
14. 有報信的來見約伯，說：牛正耕地，驢在旁邊喫草，
15 and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
15 스바 사람이 갑자기 이르러 그것들을 빼앗고 칼로 종들을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
15. 示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。
16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
16 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 하나님의 불이 하늘에서 떨어져서 양과 종들을 살라 버렸나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
16. 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：神從天上降下火來，將群羊和僕人都燒滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。
17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
17 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 갈대아 사람이 세 무리를 지어 갑자기 낙타에게 달려들어 그것을 빼앗으며 칼로 종들을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
17. 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：迦勒底人分作三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，報信給你。
18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, "Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
18 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 주인의 자녀들이 그들의 맏아들의 집에서 음식을 먹으며 포도주를 마시는데
18. 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：你的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏喫飯喝酒，
19 when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
19 거친 들에서 큰 바람이 와서 집 네 모퉁이를 치매 그 청년들 위에 무너지므로 그들이 죽었나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다 한지라
19. 不料，有狂風從曠野颳來，擊打房屋的四角，房屋倒塌在少年人身上，他們就都死了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信你。
20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship
20 욥이 일어나 겉옷을 찢고 머리털을 밀고 땅에 엎드려 예배하며
20. 約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，伏在地上下拜，
21 and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised."
21 이르되 내가 모태에서 알몸으로 나왔사온즉 또한 알몸이 그리로 돌아가올지라 주신 이도 여호와시요 거두신 이도 여호와시오니 여호와의 이름이 찬송을 받으실지니이다 하고
21. 說：我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。
22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
22 이 모든 일에 욥이 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 원망하지 아니하니라
22. 在這一切的事上約伯並不犯罪，也不以神爲愚妄（或作：也不妄評神）。
