1 Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man."
1 아담이 그의 아내 하와와 동침하매 하와가 임신하여 가인을 낳고 이르되 내가 여호와로 말미암아 득남하였다 하니라
1. 有一日，那人和他妻子夏娃同房，夏娃就懷孕，生了該隱【就是得的意思】，便說：耶和華使我得了一個男子。
2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.
2 그가 또 가인의 아우 아벨을 낳았는데 아벨은 양치는 자였고 가인은 농사하는 자였더라
2. 又生了該隱的兄弟亞伯。亞伯是牧羊的；該隱是種地的。
3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.
3 세월이 지난 후에 가인은 땅의 소산으로 제물을 삼아 여호와께 드렸고
3. 有一日，該隱拿地裏的出産爲供物獻給耶和華；
4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,
4 아벨은 자기도 양의 첫 새끼와 그 기름으로 드렸더니 여호와께서 아벨과 그의 제물은 받으셨으나
4. 亞伯也將他羊群中頭生的和羊的脂油獻上。耶和華看中了亞伯和他的供物，
5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
5 가인과 그의 제물은 받지 아니하신지라 가인이 몹시 분하여 안색이 변하니
5. 只是看不中該隱和他的供物。該隱就大大的發怒，變了臉色。
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
6 여호와께서 가인에게 이르시되 네가 분하여 함은 어찌 됨이며 안색이 변함은 어찌 됨이냐
6. 耶和華對該隱說：你爲甚麽發怒呢？你爲甚麽變了臉色呢？
7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
7 네가 선을 행하면 어찌 낯을 들지 못하겠느냐 선을 행하지 아니하면 죄가 문에 엎드려 있느니라 죄가 너를 원하나 너는 죄를 다스릴지니라
7. 你若行得好，豈不蒙悅納？你若行得不好，罪就伏在門前。他必戀慕你，你卻要制伏他。
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
8 가인이 그의 아우 아벨에게 말하고 그들이 들에 있을 때에 가인이 그의 아우 아벨을 쳐 죽이니라
8. 該隱與他兄弟亞伯說話；二人正在田間。該隱起來打他兄弟亞伯，把他殺了。
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"
9 여호와께서 가인에게 이르시되 네 아우 아벨이 어디 있느냐 그가 이르되 내가 알지 못하나이다 내가 내 아우를 지키는 자니이까
9. 耶和華對該隱說：你兄弟亞伯在那裏？他說：我不知道！我豈是看守我兄弟的麽？
10 The LORD said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground.
10 이르시되 네가 무엇을 하였느냐 네 아우의 핏소리가 땅에서부터 내게 호소하느니라
10. 耶和華說：你作了甚麽事呢？你兄弟的血有聲音從地裏向我哀告。
11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
11 땅이 그 입을 벌려 네 손에서부터 네 아우의 피를 받았은즉 네가 땅에서 저주를 받으리니
11. 地開了口，從你手裏接受你兄弟的血。現在你必從這地受咒詛。
12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."
12 네가 밭을 갈아도 땅이 다시는 그 효력을 네게 주지 아니할 것이요 너는 땅에서 피하며 유리하는 자가 되리라
12. 你種地，地不再給你效力；你必流離飄蕩在地上。
13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear.
13 가인이 여호와께 아뢰되 내 죄짐을 지기가 너무 무거우니이다
13. 該隱對耶和華說：我的刑罰太重，過於我所能當的。
14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."
14 주께서 오늘 이 지면에서 나를 쫓아내시온즉 내가 주의 낯을 뵈옵지 못하리니 내가 땅에서 피하며 유리하는 자가 될지라 무릇 나를 만나는 자마다 나를 죽이겠나이다
14. 你如今趕逐我離開這地，以致不見你面；我必流離飄蕩在地上，凡遇見我的必殺我。
15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.
15 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 그렇지 아니하다 가인을 죽이는 자는 벌을 칠 배나 받으리라 하시고 가인에게 표를 주사 그를 만나는 모든 사람에게서 죽임을 면하게 하시니라
15. 耶和華對他說：凡殺該隱的，必遭報七倍。耶和華就給該隱立一個記號，免得人遇見他就殺他。
16 So Cain went out from the LORD'S presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
16 가인이 여호와 앞을 떠나서 에덴 동쪽 놋 땅에 거주하더니
16. 於是該隱離開耶和華的面，去住在伊甸東邊挪得之地。
17 Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch.
17 아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라 가인이 성을 쌓고 그의 아들의 이름으로 성을 이름하여 에녹이라 하니라
17. 該隱與妻子同房，他妻子就懷孕，生了以諾。該隱建造了一座城，就按著他兒子的名將那城叫作以諾。
18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech.
18 에녹이 이랏을 낳고 이랏은 므후야엘을 낳고 므후야엘은 므드사엘을 낳고 므드사엘은 라멕을 낳았더라
18. 以諾生以拿；以拿生米戶雅利；米戶雅利生瑪土撒利；瑪土撒利生拉麥。
19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.
19 라멕이 두 아내를 맞이하였으니 하나의 이름은 아다요 하나의 이름은 씰라였더라
19. 拉麥娶了兩個妻：一個名叫亞大，一個名叫洗拉。
20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock.
20 아다는 야발을 낳았으니 그는 장막에 거주하며 가축을 치는 자의 조상이 되었고
20. 亞大生雅八；雅八就是住帳棚、牧養牲畜之人的祖師。
21 His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute.
21. 그의 아우의 이름은 유발이니 그는 수금과 퉁소를 잡는 모든 자의 조상이 되었으며
21. 雅八的兄弟名叫猶八；他是一切彈琴吹簫之人的祖師。
22 Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain's sister was Naamah.
22 씰라는 두발가인을 낳았으니 그는 구리와 쇠로 여러 가지 기구를 만드는 자요 두발가인의 누이는 나아마였더라
22. 洗拉又生了土八該隱；他是打造各樣銅鐵利器的【或作：是銅匠鐵匠的祖師】。土八該隱的妹子是拿瑪。
23 Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, listen to me; wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me.
23 라멕이 아내들에게 이르되 아다와 씰라여 내 목소리를 들으라 라멕의 아내들이여 내 말을 들으라 나의 상처로 말미암아 내가 사람을 죽였고 나의 상함으로 말미암아 소년을 죽였도다
23. 拉麥對他兩個妻子說：亞大、洗拉，聽我的聲音；拉麥的妻子，細聽我的話語：壯年人傷我，我把他殺了；少年損我，我把他害了【或作我殺壯士卻傷自己，我害幼童損本身。】
24 If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times."
24 가인을 위하여는 벌이 칠 배일진대 라멕을 위하여는 벌이 칠십칠 배이리로다
24. 若殺該隱，遭報七倍，殺拉麥，必遭報七十七倍。
25 Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."
25 아담이 다시 자기 아내와 동침하매 그가 아들을 낳아 그의 이름을 셋이라 하였으니 이는 하나님이 내게 가인이 죽인 아벨 대신에 다른 씨를 주셨다 함이며
25. 亞當又與妻子同房，他就生了一個兒子，起名叫塞特，意思說：神另給我立了一個兒子代替亞伯，因爲該隱殺了。
26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
26 셋도 아들을 낳고 그의 이름을 에노스라 하였으며 그 때에 사람들이 비로소 여호와의 이름을 불렀더라
26. 塞特也生了一個兒子，起名叫以挪士。那時候，人纔求告耶和華的名。
