1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;
1 아브람의 아내 사래는 출산하지 못하였고 그에게 한 여종이 있으니 애굽 사람이요 이름은 하갈이라
1. 亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊不給他生兒女。撒萊有一個使女，名叫夏甲，是埃及人。
2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.
2 사래가 아브람에게 이르되 여호와께서 내 출산을 허락하지 아니 하셨으니 원하건대 내 여종에게 들어가라 내가 혹 그로 말미암아 자녀를 얻을까 하노라 하매 아브람이 사래의 말을 들으니라
2. 撒萊對亞伯蘭說：耶和華使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因他得孩子【原文作被建立】。亞伯聽從了撒萊的話。
3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.
3 아브람의 아내 사래가 그 여종 애굽 사람 하갈을 데려다가 그 남편 아브람에게 첩으로 준 때는 아브람이 가나안 땅에 거주한지 십 년 후였더라
3. 於是亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊將使女埃及人夏甲給了丈夫爲妾；那時亞伯蘭在迦南已經住了十年。
4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
4 아브람이 하갈과 동침하였더니 하갈이 임신하매 그가 자기의 임신함을 알고 그의 여주인을 멸시한지라
4. 亞伯蘭與夏甲同房，夏甲就懷了孕；他見自己有孕，就小看他的主母。
5 Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."
5 사래가 아브람에게 이르되 내가 받는 모욕은 당신이 받아야 옳도다 내가 나의 여종을 당신의 품에 두었거늘 그가 자기의 임신함을 알고 나를 멸시하니 당신과 나 사이에 여호와께서 판단하시기를 원하노라
5. 撒萊對亞伯蘭說：我因你受屈。我將我的使女放在你懷中，他見自己有了孕，就小看我。願耶和華在你我中間判。
6 "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.
6 아브람이 사래에게 이르되 당신의 여종은 당신의 수중에 있으니 당신의 눈에 좋을 대로 그에게 행하라 하매 사래가 하갈을 학대하였더니 하갈이 사래 앞에서 도망하였더라
6. 亞伯蘭對撒萊說：使女在你手下，你可以隨意待他。撒萊苦待他，他就從撒萊面前逃走了。
7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
7 여호와의 사자가 광야의 샘물 곁 곧 술 길 샘 곁에서 그를 만나
7. 耶和華的使者在曠野書珥路上的水泉旁遇見他，
8 And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.
8 이르되 사래의 여종 하갈아 네가 어디서 왔으며 어디로 가느냐 그가 이르되 나는 내 여주인 사래를 피하여 도망하나이다
8. 對他說：撒萊的使女夏甲，你從那裏來？要往那裏去？夏甲說：我從我的主母撒萊面前逃出來。
9 Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."
9 여호와의 사자가 그에게 이르되 네 여주인에게로 돌아가서 그 수하에 복종하라
9. 耶和華的使者對他說：你回到你主母那裏，服在他手下；
10 The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."
10 여호와의 사자가 또 그에게 이르되 내가 네 씨를 크게 번성하여 그 수가 많아 셀 수 없게 하리라
10. 又說：我必使你的後裔極其繁多，甚至不可勝數；
11 The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
11 여호와의 사자가 또 그에게 이르되 네가 임신하였은즉 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 이스마엘이라 하라 이는 여호와께서 네 고통을 들으셨음이니라
11. 並說：你如今懷孕要生一個兒子，可以給他起名叫以實瑪利，因爲耶和華聽見了你的苦情。【以實瑪利就是神聽的意思】
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
12 그가 사람 중에 들나귀 같이 되리니 그의 손이 모든 사람을 치겠고 모든 사람의 손이 그를 칠지며 그가 모든 형제와 대항해서 살리라 하니라
12. 他爲人必像野驢。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他；他必住在衆弟兄的東邊。
13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."
13 하갈이 자기에게 이르신 여호와의 이름을 나를 살피시는 하나님이라 하였으니 이는 내가 어떻게 여기서 나를 살피시는 하나님을 뵈었는고 함이라
13. 夏甲就稱那對他說話的耶和華爲看顧人的神。因而說：在這裏我也看見那看顧我的麽？
14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
14 이러므로 그 샘을 브엘라해로이라 불렀으며 그것은 가데스와 베렛 사이에 있더라
14. 所以這井名叫庇耳拉海萊。這井正在加低斯和巴列中間。
15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
15 하갈이 아브람의 아들을 낳으매 아브람이 하갈이 낳은 그 아들을 이름하여 이스마엘이라 하였더라
15. 後來夏甲給亞伯蘭生了一個兒子；亞伯蘭給他起名叫以實瑪利。
16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
16 하갈이 아브람에게 이스마엘을 낳았을 때에 아브람이 팔십육 세였더라
16. 夏甲給亞伯蘭生以實瑪利的時候，亞伯蘭年八十六歲。
