1 So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.
1 사람이 마땅히 우리를 그리스도의 일꾼이요 하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자로 여길지어다
1. 人應當以我們爲基督的執事，爲神奧袐事的管家。
2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
2 그리고 맡은 자들에게 구할 것은 충성이니라
2. 所求於管家的，是要他有忠心。
3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
3 너희에게나 다른 사람에게나 판단 받는 것이 내게는 매우 작은 일이라 나도 나를 판단하지 아니하노니
3. 我被你們論斷，或被別人論斷，我都以爲極小的事；連我自己也不論斷自己。
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
4 내가 자책할 아무 것도 깨닫지 못하나 그러나 이로 말미암아 의롭다 함을 얻지 못하노라 다만 나를 심판하실 이는 주시니라
4. 我雖不覺得自己有錯，卻也不能因此得以稱義；但判斷我的乃是主。
5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
5 그러므로 때가 이르기 전 곧 주께서 오시기까지 아무 것도 판단하지 말라 그가 어둠에 감추인 것들을 드러내고 마음의 뜻을 나타내시리니 그 때에 각 사람에게 하나님으로부터 칭찬이 있으리라
5. 所以，時候未到，甚麽都不要論斷，只等主來，他要照出暗中的隱情，顯明人心的意念。那時，各人要從神那裏著稱讚。
6 Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.
6 형제들아 내가 너희를 위하여 이 일에 나와 아볼로를 들어서 본을 보였으니 이는 너희로 하여금 기록한 말씀 밖으로 넘어가지 말라 한 것을 우리에게서 배워 서로 대적하여 교만한 마음을 가지지 말게 하려 함이라
6. 弟兄們，我爲你們的緣故，拿這些事轉比自己和亞波羅，叫你們效法我們不可過於聖經所記，免得你們自高自大貴重這個，輕看那個。
7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
7 누가 너를 남달리 구별하였느냐 네게 있는 것 중에 받지 아니한 것이 무엇이냐 네가 받았은즉 어찌하여 받지 아니한 것 같이 자랑하느냐
7. 使你與人不同的是誰呢？你有甚麽不是領受的呢；若是領受的，爲何自誇，彷彿不是領受的呢？
8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have become kings--and that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you!
8 너희가 이미 배 부르며 이미 풍성하며 우리 없이도 왕이 되었도다 우리가 너희와 함께 왕 노릇 하기 위하여 참으로 너희가 왕이 되기를 원하노라
8. 你們已經飽足了！已經豐富了！不用我們，自己就作王了！我願意你們果眞作王，叫我們也得與你們一同作王。
9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.
9 내가 생각하건대 하나님이 사도인 우리를 죽이기로 작정된 자 같이 끄트머리에 두셨으매 우리는 세계 곧 천사와 사람에게 구경거리가 되었노라
9. 我想神把我們使徒明明列在末後，好像定死罪的囚犯；因爲我們成了一臺戱，給世人和天使觀看。
10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!
10 우리는 그리스도의 때문에 어리석으나 너희는 그리스도 안에서 지혜롭고 우리는 약하나 너희는 강하고 너희는 존귀하나 우리는 비천하여
10. 我們爲基督的緣故算是愚拙的，你們在基督裏倒是聰明的；我們軟弱，你們倒强壯；你們有榮耀，我們倒被藐視。
11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.
11 바로 이 시각까지 우리가 주리고 목마르며 헐벗고 매맞으며 정처가 없고
11. 直到如今，我們還是又飢又渴，又赤身露體，又挨打，又沒有一定的住處，
12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;
12 또 수고하여 친히 손으로 일을 하며 모욕을 당한즉 축복하고 박해를 받은즉 참고
12. 並且勞苦，親手作工。被人咒罵，我們就祝福；被人逼迫，我們就忍受；
13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.
13 비방을 받은즉 권면하니 우리가 지금까지 세상의 더러운 것과 만물의 찌꺼기 같이 되었도다
13. 被人毁謗，我們就善勸。直到如今，人還把我們看作世界上的汚穢，萬物中的渣滓。
14 I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children.
14 내가 너희를 부끄럽게 하려고 이것을 쓰는 것이 아니라 오직 너희를 내 사랑하는 자녀 같이 권하려 하는 것이라
14. 我寫這話，不是叫你們羞愧，乃是警戒你們，好像我所親愛的兒女一樣。
15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
15 그리스도 안에서 일만 스승이 있으되 아비는 많지 아니하니 그리스도 예수 안에서 내가 복음으로써 내가 너희를 낳았음이라
15. 你們學基督的，師傅雖有一萬，爲父的卻是不多，因我在基督耶穌裏用福音生了你們。
16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
16 그러므로 내가 너희에게 권하노니 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라
16. 所以，我求你們效法我。
17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.
17 이로 말미암아 내가 주 안에서 내 사랑하고 신실한 아들 디모데를 너희에게 보내었으니 그가 너희로 하여금 그리스도 예수 안에서 나의 행사 곧 내가 각처 교회에서 가르치는 것을 생각나게 하리라
17. 因此我已打發提摩太到你們那裏去。他在主裏面，是我所親愛，有忠心的兒子。他必提醒你們，記念我在基督裏樣行事，在各處各敎會中怎樣敎導人。
18 Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.
18 어떤 이들은 내가 너희에게 나아가지 아니할 것 같이 스스로 교만하여졌으나
18. 有些人自高自大，以爲我不到你們那裏去；
19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.
19 주께서 허락하시면 내가 너희에게 속히 나아가서 교만한 자들의 말이 아니라 오직 그 능력을 알아 보겠으니
19. 然而，主若許我，我必快到你們那裏去，並且我所要知道的，不是那些自高自大之人的言語，乃是他們的權能。
20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
20 하나님의 나라는 말에 있지 아니하고 오직 능력에 있음이라
20. 因爲神的國不在乎言語，乃在乎權能。
21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?
21 너희가 무엇을 원하느냐 내가 매를 가지고 너희에게 나아가랴 사랑과 온유한 마음으로 나아가랴
21. 你們願意怎麽樣呢？是願意我帶著刑杖到你們那裏去呢？還是要我存慈愛溫柔的心呢？
