1 The LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, "There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor.
1 여호와에서 나단을 다윗에게 보내시니 그가 다윗에게 가서 그에게 이르되 한 성읍에 두 사람이 있는데 한 사람은 부하고 한 사람은 가난하니
1. 耶和華差遣拿單去見大衛。拿單到了大衛那裏，對他說：在一座城裏有兩個人：一個是富戶，一個是窮人。
2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle,
2 그 부한 사람은 양과 소가 심히 많으나
2. 富戶有許多牛群羊群；
3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.
3 가난한 사람은 아무것도 없고 자기가 사서 기르는 작은 암양 새끼 한 마리뿐이라 그 암양 새끼는 그와 그의 자식과 함께 자라며 그가 먹는 것을 먹으며 그의 잔으로 마시며 그의 품에 누우므로 그에게는 딸처럼 되었거늘
3. 窮人除了所買來養活的一隻小母羊羔之外，別無所有。羊羔在他家裏和他兒女一同長大，喫他所喫的，喝他所喝，睡在他懷中，在他看來如同女兒一樣。
4 "Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him."
4 어떤 행인이 그 부자에게 오매 부자가 자기에게 온 행인을 위하여 자기의 양과 소를 아껴 잡지 아니하고 가난한 사람의 양 새끼를 빼앗아다가 자기에게 온 사람을 위하여 잡았나이다 하니
4. 有一客人來到這富戶家裏；富戶捨不得從自己的牛群羊群中取一隻豫備給客人喫，卻取了那窮人的羊羔，豫備給人喫。
5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, "As surely as the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die!
5 다윗이 그 사람으로 말미암아 노하여 나단에게 이르되 여호와의 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 이 일을 행한 그 사람은 마땅히 죽을 자라
5. 大衛就甚惱怒那人，對拿單說：我指著永生的耶和華起誓，行這事的人該死！
6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity."
6 그가 불쌍히 여기지 아니하고 이런 일을 행하였으니 그 양 새끼를 네 배나 갚아 주어야 하리라 한지라
6. 他必償還羊羔四倍；因爲他行這事，沒有憐恤的心。
7 Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man! This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.
7 나단이 다윗에게 이르되 당신이 그 사람이라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이와 같이 이르시기를 내가 너를 이스라엘 왕으로 기름 붓기 위하여 너를 사울의 손에서 구원하고
7. 拿單對大衛說：你就是那人！耶和華─以色列的神如此說：我膏你作以色列的王，救你脫離掃羅的手。
8 I gave your master's house to you, and your master's wives into your arms. I gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more.
8 네 주인의 집을 네게 주고 네 주인의 아내들을 네 품에 두고 이스라엘과 유다 족속을 네게 맡겼느니라 만일 그것이 부족하였을 것 같으면 내가 네게 이것 저것을 더 주었으리라
8. 我將你主人的家業賜給你，將你主人的妻交在你懷裏，又將以色列和猶大家賜給你；你若還以爲不足，我早就加地賜給你。
9 Why did you despise the word of the LORD by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.
9 그러한데 어찌하여 네가 여호와의 말씀을 업신여기고 나 보기에 악을 행하였느냐 네가 칼로 헷 사람 우리아를 치되 암몬 자손의 칼로 죽이고 그의 아내를 빼앗아 네 아내로 삼았도다
9. 你爲甚麽藐視耶和華的命令，行他眼中看爲惡的事呢？你借亞捫人的刀殺害赫人烏利亞，又娶了他的妻爲妻。
10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.'
10 이제 네가 나를 업신여기고 헷 사람 우리아의 아내를 빼앗아 네 아내로 삼았은즉 칼이 네 집에서 영원토록 떠나지 아니하리라 하셨고
10. 你旣藐視我，娶了赫人烏利亞的妻爲妻，所以刀劍必永不離開你的家。
11 "This is what the LORD says: 'Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity upon you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.
11 여호와께서 또 이와 같이 이르시기를 보라 내가 너와 네 집에 재앙을 일으키고 내가 네 눈 앞에서 네 아내를 빼앗아 네 이웃들에게 주리니 그 사람들이 네 아내들과 더불어 백주에 동침하리라
11. 耶和華如此說：我必從你家中興起禍患攻擊你；我必在你眼前把你的妃嬪賜給別人，他在日光之下就與他們同寢。
12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.'"
12 너는 은밀히 행하였으나 나는 온 이스라엘 앞에서 백주에 이 일을 행하리라 하셨나이다 하니
12. 你在暗中行這事，我卻要在以色列衆人面前，日光之下，報應你。
13 Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." Nathan replied, "The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.
13 다윗이 나단에게 이르되 내가 여호와께 죄를 범하였노라 하매 나단이 다윗에게 말하되 여호와께서도 당신의 죄를 사하셨나니 당신이 죽지 아니하려니와
13. 大衛對拿單說：我得罪耶和華了！拿單說：耶和華已經除掉你的罪，你必不至於死。
14 But because by doing this you have made the enemies of the LORD show utter contempt, the son born to you will die."
14 이 일로 말미암아 여호와의 원수가 크게 비방할 거리를 얻게 하였으니 당신이 낳은 아이가 반드시 죽으리이다 하고
14. 只是你行這事，叫耶和華的仇敵大得褻瀆的機會，故此，你所得的孩子必定要死。
15 After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David, and he became ill.
15 나단이 자기 집으로 돌아가니라 우리아의 아내가 다윗에게 낳은 아이를 여호와께서 치시매 심히 앓는지라
15. 拿單就回家去了。耶和華擊打烏利亞妻給大衛所生的孩子，使他得重病。
16 David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and went into his house and spent the nights lying on the ground.
16 다윗이 그 아이를 위하여 하나님께 간구하되 다윗이 금식하고 안에 들어가서 밤새도록 땅에 엎드렸으니
16. 所以大衛爲這孩子懇求神，而且禁食，進入內室，終夜躺在地上。
17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them.
17 그 집의 늙은 자들이 그 곁에 서서 다윗을 땅에서 일으키려 하되 왕이 듣지 아니하고 그들과 더불어 먹지도 아니하더라
17. 他家中的老臣來到他旁邊，要把他從地上扶起來，他卻不肯起來，也不同他們喫飯。
18 On the seventh day the child died. David's servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they thought, "While the child was still living, we spoke to David but he would not listen to us. How can we tell him the child is dead? He may do something desperate."
18 이레 만에 그 아이가 죽으니라 그러나 다윗의 신하들이 아이가 죽은 것을 왕에게 아뢰기를 두려워하니 이는 그들이 말하기를 아이가 살았을 때에 우리가 그에게 말하여도 왕이 그 말을 듣지 아니하셨나니 어떻게 그 아이가 죽은 것을 그에게 아뢸 수 있으랴 왕이 상심하시리로다 함이라
18. 到第七日，孩子死了。大衛的臣僕不敢告訴他孩子死了，因他們說：孩子還活著的時候，我們勸他，他尙且不肯我們的話，若告訴他孩子死了，豈不更加憂傷麽？
19 David noticed that his servants were whispering among themselves and he realized the child was dead. "Is the child dead?" he asked. "Yes," they replied, "he is dead."
19 다윗이 그의 신하들이 서로 수군거리는 것을 보고 그 아이가 죽은 줄을 다윗이 깨닫고 그의 신하들에게 묻되 아이가 죽었느냐 하니 대답하되 죽었나이다 하는지라
19. 大衛見臣僕彼此低聲說話，就知道孩子死了，問臣僕說：孩子死了麽？他們說：死了。
20 Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.
20 다윗이 땅에서 일어나 몸을 씻고 기름을 바르고 의복을 갈아입고 여호와의 전에 들어가서 경배하고 왕궁으로 돌아와 명령하여 음식을 그 앞에 차리게 하고 먹은지라
20. 大衛就從地上起來，沐浴，抹膏，換了衣裳，進耶和華的殿敬拜；然後回宮，吩咐人擺飯，他便喫了。
21 His servants asked him, "Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!"
21 그의 신하들이 그에게 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에는 그를 위하여 금식하고 우시더니 죽은 후에는 일어나서 잡수시니 이 일이 어찌됨이니이까 하니
21. 臣僕問他說：你所行的是甚麽意思？孩子活著的時候，你禁食哭泣；孩子死了，你倒起來喫飯。
22 He answered, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, 'Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.'
22 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에 내가 금식하고 운 것은 혹시 여호와께서 나를 불쌍히 여기사 아이를 살려 주실는지 누가 알까 생각함 이거니와
22. 大衛說：孩子還活著，我禁食哭泣；因爲我想，或者耶和華憐恤我，使孩子不死也未可知。
23 But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."
23 지금은 죽었으니 내가 어찌 금식하랴 내가 다시 돌아오게 할 수 있느냐 나는 그에게로 가려니와 그는 내게로 돌아오지 아니하리라 하니라
23. 孩子死了，我何必禁食，我豈能使他返回呢？我必往他那裏去，他卻不能回我這裏來。
24 Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and he went to her and lay with her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon. The LORD loved him;
24 다윗이 그의 아내 밧세바를 위로하고 그에게 들어가 그와 동침하였더니 그가 아들을 낳으매 그의 이름을 솔로몬이라 하니라 여호와께서 그를 사랑하사
24. 大衛安慰他的妻拔示巴，與他同寢，他就生了兒子，給他起名叫所羅門。耶和華也喜愛他，
25 and because the LORD loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.
25 선지자 나단을 보내 그의 이름을 여디디야라 하시니 이는 여호와께서 사랑하셨기 때문이더라
25. 就藉先知拿單賜他一個名字，叫耶底底亞，因爲耶和華愛他。
26 Meanwhile Joab fought against Rabbah of the Ammonites and captured the royal citadel.
26 요압이 암몬 자손의 랍바를 쳐서 그 왕성을 점령하매
26. 約押攻取亞捫人的京城拉巴。
27 Joab then sent messengers to David, saying, "I have fought against Rabbah and taken its water supply.
27 요압이 전령을 다윗에게 보내 이르되 내가 랍바 곧 물들의 성읍을 쳐서 점령하였으니
27. 約押打發使者去見大衛，說：我攻打拉巴，取其水城。
28 Now muster the rest of the troops and besiege the city and capture it. Otherwise I will take the city, and it will be named after me."
28 이제 왕은 그 백성의 남은 군사를 모아 그 성에 맞서 진 치고 이 성읍을 쳐서 점령하소서 내가 이 성읍을 점령하면 이 성읍이 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받을까 두려워하나이다 하니
28. 現在你要聚集其餘的軍兵來，安營圍攻這城，恐怕我取了這城，人就以我的名叫這城。
29 So David mustered the entire army and went to Rabbah, and attacked and captured it.
29 다윗이 모든 군사를 모아 랍바로 가서 그 곳을 쳐서 점령하고
29. 於是大衛聚集衆軍，往拉巴去攻城，就取了這城，
30 He took the crown from the head of their king--its weight was a talent of gold, and it was set with precious stones--and it was placed on David's head. He took a great quantity of plunder from the city
30 그 왕의 머리에서 보석 박힌 왕관을 가져오니 그 중량이 금 한 달란트라 다윗이 자기의 머리에 쓰니라 다윗이 또 그 성읍에서 노략 한 물건을 무수히 내오고
30. 奪了亞捫人之王所戴的金冠冕（王：或譯瑪勒堪；瑪勒堪就是米勒公，又名摩洛，亞捫族之神名），其上的金子一他連得，又嵌著寶石。人將這冠冕戴在大衛頭上。大從城裏奪了許多財物，
31 and brought out the people who were there, consigning them to labor with saws and with iron picks and axes, and he made them work at brickmaking. He did this to all the Ammonite towns. Then David and his entire army returned to Jerusalem.
31 그 안에 있는 백성들을 끌어내어 톱질과 써레질과 철도끼질과 벽돌구이를 그들에게 하게 하니라 암몬 자손의 모든 성읍을 이같이 하고 다윗과 모든 백성이 예루살렘으로 돌아가니라
31. 將城裏的人拉出來，放在鋸下，或鐵耙下，或鐵斧下，或叫他經過磚窯（或譯：强他們用鋸，或用打糧食的鐵器或用鐵斧作工，或使在磚窯裏服役）；大衛待亞捫各城居民都是如此。其後，大衛和衆軍都回耶路撒冷去了。
