1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,
1 우리 중에 이루어진 사실에 대하여
1. 提阿非羅大人哪，有好些人提筆作書，述說在我們中間所成就的事，是照傳道的人從起初親眼看見又傳給我們的。
2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
2 처음부터 목격자와 말씀의 일꾼 된 자들이 전하여 준 그대로 내력을 저술하려고 붓을 든 사람이 많은지라

3 Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
3 그 모든 일을 근원부터 자세히 미루어 살핀 나도 데오빌로 각하에게 차례대로 써 보내는 것이 좋은 줄 알았노니
3. 這些事我旣從起頭都詳細考察了，就定意要按著次序寫給你，
4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
4 이는 각하가 알고 있는 바를 더 확실하게 하려 함이로다
4. 使你知道所學之道都是確實的。
5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.
5 유대 왕 헤롯 때에 아비야 반열에 제사장 한 사람이 있었으니 이름은 사가랴요 그 아내는 아론의 자손이니 이름은 엘리사벳이라
5. 當猶太王希律的時候，亞比雅班裏有一個祭司，名叫撒迦利亞；他妻子是亞倫的後人，名叫以利沙伯。
6 Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly.
6 이 두 사람이 하나님 앞에 의인이니 주의 모든 계명과 규례대로 흠이 없이 행하더라
6. 他們二人在神面前都是義人，遵行主的一切誡命禮儀，沒有可指摘的，
7 But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren; and they were both well along in years.
7 엘리사벳이 잉태를 못하므로 그들에게 자식이 없고 두 사람의 나이가 많더라
7. 只是沒有孩子；因爲以利沙伯不生育，兩個人又年紀老邁了。
8 Once when Zechariah's division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
8 마침 사가랴가 그 반열의 차례대로 하나님 앞에서 제사장의 직무를 행할새
8. 撒迦利亞按班次在神面前供祭司的職分，
9 he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
9 제사장의 전례를 따라 제비를 뽑아 주의 성전에 들어가 분향하고
9. 照祭司的規矩掣籤，得進主殿燒香。
10 And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.
10 모든 백성은 그 분향하는 시간에 밖에서 기도하더니
10. 燒香的時候，衆百姓在外面禱告。
11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
11 주의 사자가 그에게 나타나 향단 우편에 선지라
11. 有主的使者站在香壇的右邊，向他顯現。
12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.
12 사가랴가 보고 놀라며 무서워하니
12. 撒迦利亞看見，就驚慌害怕。
13 But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
13 천사가 그에게 이르되 사가랴여 무서워하지 말라 너의 간구함이 들린지라 네 아내 엘리사벳이 네게 아들을 낳아 주리니 그 이름을 요한이라 하라
13. 天使對他說：撒迦利亞，不要害怕，因爲你的祈禱已經被聽見了。你的妻子以利沙伯要給你生一個兒子，你要給起名叫約翰。
14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth,
14 너도 기뻐하고 즐거워할 것이요 많은 사람도 그의 태어남을 기뻐하리니
14. 你必歡喜快樂；有許多人因他出世，也必喜樂。
15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.
15 이는 그가 주 앞에 큰 자가 되며 포도주나 독한 술을 마시지 아니하며 모태로부터 성령의 충만함을 받아
15. 他在主面前將要爲大，淡酒濃酒都不喝，從母腹裏就被聖靈充滿了。
16 Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God.
16 이스라엘 자손을 주 곧 그들의 하나님께로 많이 돌아오게 하겠음이라
16. 他要使許多以色列人回轉，歸於主─他們的神。
17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
17 그가 또 엘리야의 심령과 능력으로 주 앞에 먼저 와서 아버지의 마음을 자식에게, 거스르는 자를 의인의 슬기에 돌아오게 하고 주를 위하여 세운 백성을 예비하리라
17. 他必有以利亞的心志能力，行在主的前面，叫爲父的心轉向兒女，叫悖逆的人轉從義人的智慧，又爲主豫備合用百姓。
18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years."
18 사가랴가 천사에게 이르되 내가 이것을 어떻게 알리요 내가 늙고 아내도 나이가 많으니이다
18. 撒迦利亞對天使說：我憑著甚麽可知道這事呢？我已經老了，我的妻子也年紀老邁了。
19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.
19 천사가 대답하여 이르되 나는 하나님 앞에 서 있는 가브리엘이라 이 좋은 소식을 전하여 네게 말하라고 보내심을 받았노라
19. 天使回答說：我是站在神面前的加百列，奉差而來對你說話，將這好信息報給你。
20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time."
20 보라 이 일이 되는 날까지 네가 말 못하는 자가 되어 능히 말을 못하리니 이는 네가 내 말을 믿지 아니함이거니와 때가 이르면 내 말이 이루어지리라 하더라
20. 到了時候，這話必然應驗；只因你不信，你必啞吧，不能說話，直到這事成就的日子。
21 Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple.
21 백성들이 사가랴를 기다리며 그가 성전 안에서 지체함을 이상히 여기더라
21. 百姓等候撒迦利亞，詫異他許久在殿裏。
22 When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.
22 그가 나와서 그들에게 말을 못하니 백성들이 그가 성전 안에서 환상을 본 줄 알았더라 그가 몸짓으로 뜻을 표시하며 그냥 말 못하는대로 있더니
22. 及至他出來，不能和他們說話，他們就知道他在殿裏見了異象；因爲他直向他們打手式，竟成了啞吧。
23 When his time of service was completed, he returned home.
23 그 직무의 날이 다 되매 집으로 돌아가니라
23. 他供職的日子已滿，就回家去了。
24 After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion.
24 이후에 그의 아내 엘리사벳이 잉태하고 다섯 달 동안 숨어 있으며 이르되
24. 這些日子以後，他的妻子以利沙伯懷了孕，就隱藏了五個月，
25 "The Lord has done this for me," she said. "In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people."
25 주께서 나를 돌보시는 날에 사람들 앞에서 내 부끄러움을 없게 하시려고 이렇게 행하심이라 하더라
25. 說：主在眷顧我的日子，這樣看待我，要把我在人間的羞恥除掉。
26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,
26 여섯째 달에 천사 가브리엘이 하나님의 보내심을 받아 갈릴리 나사렛이란 동네에 가서
26. 到了第六個月，天使加百列奉神的差遣往加利利的一座城去，這城名叫拿撒勒，
27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
27 다윗의 자손 요셉이라 하는 사람과 약혼한 처녀에게 이르니 그 처녀의 이름은 마리아라
27. 到一個童女那裏，是已經許配大衛家的一個人，名叫約瑟。童女的名字叫馬利亞；
28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
28 그에게 들어가 이르되 은혜를 받은 자여 평안할지어다 주께서 너와 함께 하시도다 하니
28. 天使進去，對他說：蒙大恩的女子，我問你安，主和你同在了！
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
29 처녀가 그 말을 듣고 놀라 이런 인사가 어찌함인고 생각하매
29. 馬利亞因這話就很驚慌，又反復思想這樣問安是甚麽意思。
30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
30 천사가 이르되 마리아여 무서워하지 말라 네가 하나님께 은혜를 입었느니라
30. 天使對他說：馬利亞，不要怕！你在神面前已經蒙恩了。
31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
31 보라 네가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 예수라 하라
31. 你要懷孕生子，可以給他起名叫耶穌。
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
32 그가 큰 자가 되고 지극히 높은신 이의 아들이라 일컬어질 것이요 주 하나님께서 그 조상 다윗의 왕위를 그에게 주시리니
32. 他要爲大，稱爲至高者的兒子；主神要把他祖大衛的位給他。
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
33 영원히 야곱의 집을 왕으로 다스리실 것이며 그 나라가 무궁하리라
33. 他要作雅各家的王，直到永遠；他的國也沒有窮盡。
34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
34 마리아가 천사에게 말하되 나는 남자를 알지 못하니 어찌 이 일이 있으리이까
34. 馬利亞對天使說：我沒有出嫁，怎麽有這事呢？
35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
35 천사가 대답하여 이르되 성령이 네게 임하시고 지극히 높으신 이의 능력이 너를 덮으시리니 이러므로 나실 바 거룩한 이는 하나님의 아들이라 일컬어지리라
35. 天使回答說：聖靈要臨到你身上，至高者的能力要蔭庇你，因此所要生的聖者必稱爲神的兒子（或作：所要生的必稱爲聖，稱爲神的兒子）。
36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
36 보라 네 친족 엘리사벳도 늙어서 아들을 배었느니라 본래 임신하지 못한다고 알려진 이가 이미 여섯 달이 되었나니
36. 況且你的親戚以利沙伯，在年老的時候也懷了男胎，就是那素來稱爲不生育的，現在有孕六個月了。
37 For nothing is impossible with God."
37 대저 하나님의 모든 말씀은 능하지 못하심이 없느니라
37. 因爲，出於神的話，沒有一句不帶能力的。
38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.
38 마리아가 이르되 주의 여종이오니 말씀대로 내게 이루어지이다 하매 천사가 떠나가니라
38. 馬利亞說：我是主的使女，情願照你的話成就在我身上。天使就離開他去了。
39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea,
39 이 때에 마리아가 일어나 빨리 산골로 가서 유대 한 동네에 이르러
39. 那時候，馬利亞起身，急忙往山地裏去，來到猶大的一座城；
40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth.
40 사가랴의 집에 들어가 엘리사벳에게 문안하니
40. 進了撒迦利亞的家，問以利沙伯安。
41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
41 엘리사벳이 마리아의 문안함을 들으매 아이가 복중에서 뛰노는지라 엘리사벳이 성령의 충만함을 받아
41. 以利沙伯一聽馬利亞問安，所懷的胎就在腹裏跳動。以利沙伯且被聖靈充滿，
42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!
42 큰 소리로 불러 이르되 여자 중에 네가 복이 있으며 네 태중의 아이도 복이 있도다
42. 高聲喊著說：你在婦女中是有福的！你所懷的胎也是有福的！
43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
43 내 주의 어머니가 내게 나아오니 이 어찌 된 일인가
43. 我主的母到我這裏來，這是從那裏得的呢？
44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
44 보라 네 문안하는 소리가 내 귀에 들릴 때에 아이가 내 복중에서 기쁨으로 뛰놀았도다
44. 因爲你問安的聲音一入我耳，我腹裏的胎就歡喜跳動。
45 Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
45 주께서 하신 말씀이 반드시 이루어지리라고 믿은 그 여자에게 복이 있도다
45. 這相信的女子是有福的！因爲主對他所說的話都要應驗。
46 And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord
46 마리아가 이르되 내 영혼이 주를 찬양하며
46. 馬利亞說：我心尊主爲大；
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
47 내 마음이 하나님 내 구주를 기뻐하였음은
47. 我靈以神我的救主爲樂；
48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,
48 그의 여종의 비천함을 돌보셨음이라 보라 이제 후로는 만세에 나를 복이 있다 일컬으리로다
48. 因爲他顧念他使女的卑微；從今以後，萬代要稱我有福。
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me--holy is his name.
49 능하신 이가 큰 일을 내게 행하셨으니 그 이름이 거룩하시며
49. 那有權能的，爲我成就了大事；他的名爲聖。
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
50 긍휼하심이 두려워하는 자에게 대대로 이르는도다
50. 他憐憫敬畏他的人，直到世世代代。
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
51 그의 팔로 힘을 보이사 마음의 생각이 교만한 자들을 흩으셨고
51. 他用膀臂施展大能；那狂傲的人正心裏妄想就被他趕散了。
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
52 권세있는 자를 그 위에서 내리치셨으며 비천한 자를 높이셨고
52. 他叫有權柄的失位，叫卑賤的升高；
53 He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.
53 주리는 자를 좋은 것으로 배불리셨으며 부자는 빈 손으로 보내셨도다
53. 叫飢餓的得飽美食，叫富足的空手回去。
54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful
54 그 종 이스라엘을 도우사 긍휼히 여기시고 기억하시되
54. 他扶助了他的僕人以色列，
55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers."
55 우리 조상에게 말씀하신 것과 같이 아브라함과 및 그 자손에게 영원히 하시리로다 하니라
55. 爲要記念亞伯拉罕和他的後裔，施憐憫直到永遠，正如從前對我們列祖所說的話。
56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.
56 마리아가 석 달쯤 함께 있다가 집으로 돌아가니라
56. 馬利亞和以利沙伯同住，約有三個月，就回家去了。
57 When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.
57 엘리사벳이 해산할 기한이 차서 아들을 낳으니
57. 以利沙伯的産期到了，就生了一個兒子。
58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy.
58 이웃과 친족이 주께서 그를 크게 긍휼히 여기심을 듣고 함께 즐거워 하더라
58. 鄰里親族聽見主向他大施憐憫，就和他一同歡樂。
59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah,
59 팔 일이 되매 아이를 할례하러 와서 그 아버지의 이름을 따라 사가랴라 하고자 하더니
59. 到了第八日，他們來要給孩子行割禮，並要照他父親的名字叫他撒迦利亞。
60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John."
60 그 어머니가 대답하여 이르되 아니라 요한이라 할 것이라 하매
60. 他母親說：不可！要叫他約翰。
61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name."
61 그들이 이르되 네 친족 중에 이 이름으로 이름한 이가 없다 하고
61. 他們說：你親族中沒有叫這名字的。
62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child.
62 그의 아버지께 몸짓하여 무엇으로 이름을 지으려 하는가 물으니
62. 他們就向他父親打手式，問他要叫這孩子甚麽名字。
63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John."
63 저가 서판을 달라 하여 그 이름을 요한이라 쓰매 다 놀랍게 여기더라
63. 他要了一塊寫字的板，就寫上，說：他的名字是約翰。他們便都希奇。
64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God.
64 이에 그 입이 곧 열리고 혀가 풀리며 말을 하여 하나님을 찬송하니
64. 撒迦利亞的口立時開了，舌頭也舒展了，就說出話來，稱頌神。
65 The neighbors were all filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things.
65 그 근처에 사는 자가 다 두려워하고 이 모든 말이 온 유대 산골에 두루 퍼지매
65. 周圍居住的人都懼怕；這一切的事就傳遍了猶太的山地。
66 Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, "What then is this child going to be?" For the Lord's hand was with him.
66 듣는 사람이 다 이 말을 마음에 두며 이르되 이 아이가 장차 어찌 될까 하니 이는 주의 손이 그와 함께 하심이러라
66. 凡聽見的人都將這事放在心裏，說：這個孩子將來怎麽樣呢？因爲有主與他同在。
67 His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
67 그 부친 사가랴가 성령의 충만함을 받아 예언하여 이르되
67. 他父親撒迦利亞被聖靈充滿了，就豫言說：
68 "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.
68 찬송하리로다 주 이스라엘의 하나님이여 그 백성을 돌아보사 속량하시며
68. 主─以色列的神是應當稱頌的！因他眷顧他的百姓，爲他們施行救贖，
69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David
69 우리를 위하여 구원의 뿔을 그 종 다윗의 집에 일으키셨으니
69. 在他僕人大衛家中，爲我們興起了拯救的角，
70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),
70 이것은 주께서 예로부터 거룩한 선지자의 입으로 말씀하신 바와 같이
70. 正如主藉著從創世以來聖先知的口所說的話，
71 salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us--
71 우리 원수에게서와 우리를 미워하는 모든 자의 손에서 구원하시는 일이라
71. 拯救我們脫離仇敵和一切恨我們之人的手，
72 to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,
72 우리 조상을 긍휼히 여기시며 그 거룩한 언약을 기억하셨으니
72. 向我們列祖施憐憫，記念他的聖約─
73 the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
73 곧 우리 조상 아브라함에게 하신 맹세라
73. 就是他對我們祖宗亞伯拉罕所起的誓─
74 to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear
74 우리가 원수의 손에서 건지심을 입고
74. 叫我們旣從仇敵手中被救出來，
75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
75 종신토록 주의 앞에서 성결과 의로 두려움이 없이 섬기게 하리라 하셨도다
75. 就可以終身在他面前，坦然無懼的用聖潔、公義事奉他。
76 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
76 이 아이여 네가 지극히 높으신 이의 선지자라 일컬음을 받고 주 앞에 앞서 가서 그 길을 준비하여
76. 孩子阿！你要稱爲至高者的先知；因爲你要行在主的前面，豫備他的道路，
77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,
77 주의 백성에게 그 죄 사함으로 말미암는 구원을 알게 하리니
77. 叫他的百姓因罪得赦，就知道救恩。
78 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven
78 이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼로 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여
78. 因我們神憐憫的心腸，叫淸晨的日光從高天臨到我們，
79 to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."
79 어둠과 죽음의 그늘에 앉은 자에게 비치고 우리 발을 평강의 길로 인도하시리로다 하니라
79. 要照亮坐在黑暗中死蔭裏的人，把我們的脚引到平安的路上。
80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the desert until he appeared publicly to Israel.
80 아이가 자라며 심령이 강하여지며 이스라엘에게 나타나는 날까지 빈 들에 있으니라
80. 那孩子漸漸長大，心靈强健，住在曠野，直到他顯明在以色列人面前的日子。
