1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar--when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene--
1 디베료 황제가 통치한 지 열다섯 해 곧 본디오 빌라도가 유대의 총독으로, 헤롯이 갈릴리의 분봉 왕으로, 그 동생 빌립이 이두래와 드라고닛 지방의 분봉 왕으로, 루사니아가 아빌레네의 분봉 왕으로,
1. 該撒提庇留在位第十五年，本丢彼拉多作猶太巡撫，希律作加利利分封的王，他兄弟腓力作以士利亞和特拉可尼方分封的王，呂撒聶作亞比利尼分封的王，
2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert.
2 안나스와 가야바가 대제사장으로 있을 때에 하나님의 말씀이 빈 들에서 사가랴의 아들 요한에게 임한지라
2. 亞那和該亞法作大祭司。那時，撒迦利亞的兒子約翰在曠野裏，神的話臨到他。
3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
3 요한이 요단 강 부근 각처에 와서 죄 사함을 받게 하는 회개의 세례를 전파하니
3. 他就來到約但河一帶地方，宣講悔改的洗禮，使罪得赦。
4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
4 선지자 이사야의 책에 쓴 바 광야에서 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 이르되 너희는 주의 길을 준비하라 그의 오실 길을 곧게 하라
4. 正如先知以賽亞書上所記的話，說：在曠野有人聲喊著說：豫備主的道，修直他的路！
5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.
5 모든 골짜기가 메워지고 모든 산과 작은 산이 낮아지고 굽은 것이 곧아지고 험한 길이 평탄하여 질 것이요
5. 一切山窪都要塡滿；大小山岡都要削平！彎彎曲曲的地方要改爲正直；高高低低的道路要改爲平坦！
6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'"
6 모든 육체가 하나님의 구원하심을 보리라 함과 같으니라
6. 凡有血氣的，都要見神的救恩！
7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
7 요한이 세례 받으러 나아오는 무리에게 이르되 독사의 자식들아 누가 너희에게 일러 장차 올 진노를 피하라 하더냐
7. 約翰對那出來要受他洗的衆人說：毒蛇的種類！誰指示你們逃避將來的忿怒呢？
8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
8 그러므로 회개에 합당한 열매를 맺고 속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라 말하지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라
8. 你們要結出果子來，與悔改的心相稱。不要自己心裏說：有亞伯拉罕爲我們的祖宗。我告訴你們，神能從這些石中，給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。
9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."
9 이미 도끼가 나무 뿌리에 놓였으니 좋은 열매 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍혀 불에 던져지리라
9. 現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丢在火裏。
10 "What should we do then?" the crowd asked.
10 무리가 물어 이르되 그러하면 우리가 무엇을 하리이까
10. 衆人問他說：這樣，我們當作甚麽呢？
11 John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same."
11 대답하여 이르되 옷 두 벌 있는 자는 옷 없는 자에게 나눠 줄 것이요 먹을 것이 있는 자도 그렇게 할 것이니라 하고
11. 約翰回答說：有兩件衣裳的，就分給那沒有的；有食物的，也當這樣行。
12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized. "Teacher," they asked, "what should we do?"
12 세리들도 세례를 받고자 하여 와서 이르되 선생이여 우리는 무엇을 하리이까 하매
12. 又有稅吏來要受洗，問他說：夫子，我們當作甚麽呢？
13 "Don't collect any more than you are required to," he told them.
13 이르되 부가된 것 외에는 거두지 말라 하고
13. 約翰說：除了例定的數目，不要多取。
14 Then some soldiers asked him, "And what should we do?" He replied, "Don't extort money and don't accuse people falsely--be content with your pay."
14 군병들도 물어 이르되 우리는 무엇을 하리이까 하매 이르되 사람에게서 강탈하지 말며 거짓으로 고발하지 말고 받는 급료를 족한 줄로 알라 하니라
14. 又有兵丁問他說：我們當作甚麽呢？約翰說：不要以强暴待人，也不要訛詐人，自己有錢糧就當知足。
15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ.
15 백성들이 바라고 기다리므로 모든 사람들이 요한을 혹 그리스도신가 심중에 생각하니
15. 百姓指望基督來的時候，人都心裏猜疑，或者約翰是基督。
16 John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
16 요한이 모든 사람에게 대답하여 이르되 나는 물로 너희에게 세례를 베풀거니와 나보다 능력이 많으신 이가 오시나니 나는 그의 신발끈을 풀기도 감당하지 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 세례를 베푸실 것이요
16. 約翰說：我是用水給你們施洗，但有一位能力比我更大的要來，我就是給他解鞋帶也不配。他要用聖靈與火給你施洗。
17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
17 손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곳간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라
17. 他手裏拿著簸箕，要揚淨他的場，把麥子收在倉裏，把糠用不滅的火燒盡了。
18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and preached the good news to them.
18 또 그밖에 여러가지로 권하여 백성에게 좋은 소식을 전하였으나
18. 約翰又用許多別的話勸百姓，向他們傳福音。
19 But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother's wife, and all the other evil things he had done,
19 분봉 왕 헤롯은 그의 동생의 아내 헤로디아의 일과 또 자기가 행한 모든 악한 일로 말미암아 요한에게 책망을 받고
19. 只是分封的王希律，因他兄弟之妻希羅底的緣故，並因他所行的一切惡事，受了約翰的責備；
20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.
20 그 위에 한 가지 악을 더하여 요한을 옥에 가두니라
20. 又另外添了一件，就是把約翰收在監裏。
21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened
21 백성이 다 세례를 받을새 예수도 세례를 받으시고 기도하실 때에 하늘이 열리며
21. 衆百姓都受了洗，耶穌也受了洗。正禱告的時候，天就開了，
22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
22 성령이 비둘기 같은 형체로 그의 위에 강림하시더니 하늘로부터 소리가 나기를 너는 내 사랑하는 아들이라 내가 너를 기뻐하노라 하시니라
22. 聖靈降臨在他身上，形狀彷彿鴿子；又有聲音從天上來，說：你是我的愛子，我喜悅你。
23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli,
23 예수께서 가르치심을 시작할 때에 삼심 세쯤 되시니라 사람들이 아는 대로는 요셉의 아들이니 요셉의 위는 헬리요
23. 耶穌開頭傳道，年紀約有三十歲。依人看來，他是約瑟的兒子；約瑟是希里的兒子；
24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melki, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph,
24 그 위는 맛닷이요 그 위는 레위요 그 위는 멜기요 그 위는 얀나요 그 위는 요셉이요
24. 希里是瑪塔的兒子；瑪塔是利未的兒子；利未是麥基的兒子；麥基是雅拿的兒子；雅拿是約瑟的兒子；
25 the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
25 그 위는 맛다디아요 그 위는 아모스요 그 위는 나훔이요 그 위는 에슬리요 그 위는 낙개요
25. 約瑟是瑪他提亞的兒子；瑪他提亞是亞摩斯的兒子；亞摩斯是拿鴻的兒子；拿鴻是以斯利的兒子；以斯利是拿該兒子；
26 the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda,
26 그 위는 마앗이요 그 위는 맛다디아요 그 위는 서머인이요 그 위는 요섹이요 그 위는 요다요
26. 拿該是瑪押的兒子；瑪押是瑪他提亞的兒子；瑪他提亞是西美的兒子；西美是約瑟的兒子；約瑟是猶大的兒子；大是約亞拿的兒子；
27 the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,
27 그 위는 요아난이요 그 위는 레사요 그 위는 스룹바벨이요 그 위는 스알디엘이요 그 위는 네리요
27. 約亞拿是利撒的兒子；利撒是所羅巴伯的兒子；所羅巴伯是撒拉鐵的兒子；撒拉鐵是尼利的兒子；尼利是麥基的子；
28 the son of Melki, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er,
28 그 위는 멜기요 그 위는 앗디요 그 위는 고삼이요 그 위는 엘마담이요 그 위는 에르요
28. 麥基是亞底的兒子；亞底是哥桑的兒子；哥桑是以摩當的兒子；以摩當是珥的兒子；珥是約細的兒子；
29 the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi,
29 그 위는 예수요 그 위는 엘리에서요 그 위는 요림이요 그 위는 맛닷이요 그 위는 레위요
29. 約細是以利以謝的兒子；以利以謝是約令的兒子；約令是瑪塔的兒子；瑪塔是利未的兒子；
30 the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim,
30 그 위는 시므온이요 그 위는 유다요 그 위는 요셉이요 그 위는 요남이요 그 위는 엘리아김이요
30. 利未是西緬的兒子；西緬是猶大的兒子；猶大是約瑟的兒子；約瑟是約南的兒子；約南是以利亞敬的兒子；
31 the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David,
31 그 위는 멜레아요 그 위는 멘나요 그 위는 맛다다요 그 위는 나단이요 그 위는 다윗이요
31. 以利亞敬是米利亞的兒子；米利亞是買南的兒子；買南是瑪達他的兒子；瑪達他是拿單的兒子；拿單是大衛的兒；
32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon,
32 그 위는 이새요 그 위는 오벳이요 그 위는 보아스요 그 위는 살몬이요 그 위는 나손이요
32. 大衛是耶西的兒子；耶西是俄備得的兒子；俄備得是波阿斯的兒子；波阿斯是撒門的兒子；撒門是拿順的兒子；
33 the son of Amminadab, the son of Ram, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah,
33 그 위는 아미나답이요 그 위는 아니요 그 위는 헤스론이요 그 위는 베레스요 그 위는 유다요
33. 拿順是亞米拿達的兒子；亞米拿達是亞蘭的兒子；亞蘭是希斯崙的兒子；希斯崙是法勒斯的兒子；法勒斯是猶大兒子；
34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
34 그 위는 야곱이요 그 위는 이삭이요 그 위는 아브라함이요 그 위는 데라요 그 위는 나홀이요
34. 猶大是雅各的兒子；雅各是以撒的兒子；以撒是亞伯拉罕的兒子；亞伯拉罕是他拉的兒子；他拉是拿鶴的兒子；
35 the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah,
35 그 위는 스룩이요 그 위는 르우요 그 위는 벨렉이요 그 위는 헤버요 그 이상은 살라요
35. 拿鶴是西鹿的兒子；西鹿是拉吳的兒子；拉吳是法勒的兒子；法勒是希伯的兒子；希伯是沙拉的兒子；
36 the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech,
36 그 위는 가이난이요 그 위는 아박삿이요 그 위는 셈이요 그 위는 노아요 그 위는 레멕이요
36. 沙拉是該南的兒子；該南是亞法撒的兒子；亞法撒是閃的兒子；閃是挪亞的兒子；挪亞是拉麥的兒子；
37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Kenan,
37 그 위는 므두셀라요 그 위는 에녹이요 그 위는 야렛이요 그 위는 마할랄렐이요 그 위는 가이난이요
37. 拉麥是瑪土撒拉的兒子；瑪土撒拉是以諾的兒子；以諾是雅列的兒子；雅列是瑪勒列的兒子；瑪勒列是該南的兒；該南是以挪士的兒子；
38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
38 그 위는 에노스요 그 위는 셋이요 그 위는 아담이요 그 위는 하나님이시니라
38. 以挪士是塞特的兒子；塞特是亞當的兒子；亞當是神的兒子。
