1 I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.
1 내가 너희와 라오디게아에 있는 자들과 무릇 내 육신의 얼굴을 보지 못한 자들을 위하여 얼마나 힘쓰는지를 너희가 알기를 원하노니
1. 我願意你們曉得，我爲你們和老底嘉人，並一切沒有與我親自見面的人，是何等的盡心竭力；
2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
2 이는 그들로 마음에 위안을 받고 사랑 안에서 연합하여 확실한 이 해의 모든 풍성함과 하나님의 비밀인 그리스도를 깨닫게 하려 함이니
2. 要叫他們的心得安慰，因愛心互相聯絡，以致豐豐足足在悟性中有充足的信心，使他們眞知神的奧袐，就是基督；
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
3 그 안에는 지혜와 지식의 모든 보화가 감추어져 있느니라
3. 所積蓄的一切智慧知識，都在他裏面藏著。
4 I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.
4 내가 이것을 말함은 아무도 교묘한 말로 너희를 속이지 못하게 하려 함이니
4. 我說這話，免得有人用花言巧語迷惑你們。
5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
5 이는 내가 육신으로는 떠나 있으나 심령으로는 너희와 함께 있어 너희가 질서 있게 행함과 그리스도를 믿는 너희 믿음이 굳건한 것을 기쁘게 봄이라
5. 我身子雖與你們相離，心卻與你們同在，見你們循規蹈矩，信基督的心也堅固，我就歡喜了。
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,
6 그러므로 너희가 그리스도 예수를 주로 받았으니 그 안에서 행하되
6. 你們旣然接受了主基督耶穌，就當遵他而行，
7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
7 그 안에 뿌리를 박으며 세움을 받아 교훈을 받은 대로 믿음에 굳게 서서 감사함을 넘치게 하라
7. 在他裏面生根建造，信心堅固，正如你們所領的敎訓，感謝的心也更增長了。
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
8 누가 철학과 헛된 속임수로 너희를 사로잡을까 주의하라 이것은 사람의 전통과 세상의 초등학문을 따름이요 그리스도를 따름이 아니니라
8. 你們要謹愼，恐怕有人用他的理學和虛空的妄言，不照著基督，乃照人間的遺傳和世上的小學就把你們擄去。
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
9 그 안에는 신성의 모든 충만이 육체로 거하시고
9. 因爲神本性一切的豐盛都有形有體的居住在基督裏面，
10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
10 너희도 그 안에서 충만하여졌으니 그는 모든 통치자와 권세의 머리시라
10. 你們在他裏面也得了豐盛。他是各樣執政掌權者的元首。
11 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ,
11 또 그 안에서 너희가 손으로 하지 아니한 할례를 받았으니 곧 육의 몸을 벗는 것이요 그리스도의 할례니라
11. 你們在他裏面也受了不是人手所行的割禮，乃是基督使你們脫去肉體情慾的割禮。
12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
12 너희가 세례로 그리스도와 함께 장사되고 또 죽은 자들 가운데서 그를 일으키신 하나님의 역사를 믿음으로 말미암아 그 안에서 함께 일으키심을 받았느니라
12. 你們旣受洗與他一同埋葬，也就在此與他一同復活，都因信那叫他從死裏復活神的功用。
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
13 또 범죄와 육체의 무할례로 죽었던 너희를 하나님이 그와 함께 살리시고 우리의 모든 죄를 사하시고
13. 你們從前在過犯和未受割禮的肉體中死了，神赦免了你們（或作：我們）一切過犯，便叫你們與基督一同活過來；
14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
14 우리를 거스르고 불리하게 하는 법조문으로 쓴 증서를 지우시고 제하여 버리사 십자가에 못 박으시고
14. 又塗抹了在律例上所寫攻擊我們，有礙於我們的字據，把他撤去，釘在十字架上。
15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
15 통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라
15. 旣將一切執政的、掌權的擄來，明顯給衆人看，就仗著十字架誇勝。
16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
16 그러므로 먹고 마시는 것과 절기나 초하루나 안식일을 이유로 누구든지 너희를 비판하지 못하게 하라
16. 所以，不拘在飮食上，或節期、月朔、安息日都不可讓人論斷你們。
17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
17 이것들은 장래 일의 그림자이나 몸은 그리스도의 것이니라
17. 這些原是後事的影兒；那形體卻是基督。
18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.
18 아무도 꾸며낸 겸손과 천사 숭배를 이유로 너희를 정죄하지 못하게 하라 그가 그 본 것에 의지하여 그 육신의 생각을 따라 헛되어 과장하고
18. 不可讓人因著故意謙虛和敬拜天使，就奪去你們的獎賞。這等人拘泥在所見過的（有古卷作：這等人窺察所沒有過的），隨著自己的慾心，無故的自高自大，
19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
19 머리를 붙들지 아니하는지라 온 몸이 머리로 말미암아 마디와 힘줄로 공급함을 받고 연합하여 하나님이 자라게 하시므로 자라느니라
19. 不持定元首。全身旣然靠著他，筋節得以相助聯絡，就因神大得長進。
20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:
20 너희가 세상의 초등학문에서 그리스도와 함께 죽었거든 어찌하여 세상에 사는 것과 같이 규례에 순종하느냐
20. 你們若是與基督同死，脫離了世上的小學，爲甚麽仍像在世俗中活著、服從那不可拿、不可嘗、不可摸等類的規呢？
21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"?
21 (곧 붙잡지도 말고 맛보지도 말고 만지지도 말라 하는 것이니

22 These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.
22 이 모든 것은 한때 쓰이고는 없어지리라) 사람의 명령과 가르침을 따르느냐
22. 這都是照人所吩咐、所敎導的。說到這一切，正用的時候就都敗壞了。
23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
23 이런 것들은 자의적 숭배와 겸손과 몸을 괴롭게 하는 데는 지혜 있는 모양이나 오직 육체 따르는 것을 금하는 데는 조금도 유익이 없느니라
23. 這些規條使人徒有智慧之名，用私意崇拜，自表謙卑，苦待己身，其實在克制肉體的情慾上是毫無功效。
