1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan--
1 전에 고통 받던 자들에게는 흑암이 없으리로다 옛적에는 여호와께서 스불론 땅과 납달리 땅이 멸시를 당하게 하셨더니 후에는 해변 길과 요단 저쪽 이방의 갈릴리를 영화롭게 하셨느니라
1. 但那受過痛苦的必不再見幽暗。從前神使西布倫地和拿弗他利地被藐視，末後卻使這沿海的路，約但河外，外邦的加利利地得著榮耀。
2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.
2 흑암에 행하던 백성이 큰 빛을 보고 사망의 그늘진 땅에 거주하던 자에게 빛이 비치도다
2. 在黑暗中行走的百姓看見了大光，住在死蔭之地的人有光照耀他們。
3 You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as men rejoice when dividing the plunder.
3 주께서 이 나라를 창성하게 하시며 그 즐거움을 더하게 하셨으므로 추수하는 즐거움과 탈취물을 나눌 때의 즐거움 같이 그들이 주 앞에서 즐거워하오니
3. 你使這國民繁多，加增他們的喜樂；他們在你面前歡喜，好像收割的歡喜，像人分擄物那樣的快樂。
4 For as in the day of Midian's defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.
4 이는 그들이 무겁게 멘 멍에와 그들의 어깨의 채찍과 그 압제자의 막대기를 꺾으시되 미디안의 날과 같이 하셨음이니이다
4. 因爲他們所負的重軛和肩頭上的杖，並欺壓他們人的棍，你都已經折斷，好像在米甸的日子一樣。
5 Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.
5 어지러이 싸우는 군인들의 신과 피 묻은 겉옷이 불에 섶 같이 살라지리니
5. 戰士在亂殺之間所穿戴的盔甲，並那滾在血中的衣服，都必作爲可燒的，當作火柴。
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
6 이는 한 아기가 우리에게 났고 한 아들을 우리에게 주신 바 되었는데 그의 어깨에는 정사를 메었고 그의 이름은 기묘자라, 모사라, 전능하신 하나님이라, 영존하시는 아버지라, 평강의 왕이라 할 것임이라
6. 因有一嬰孩爲我們而生；有一子賜給我們。政權必擔在他的肩頭上；他名稱爲奇妙策士、全能的神、永在的父、平的君。
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
7 그 정사와 평강의 더함이 무궁하며 또 다윗의 왕좌와 그의 나라를 굳게 세우고 지금 이후로 영원히 정의와 공의로 그것을 보존하실 것이라 만군의 여호와의 열심이 이를 이루시리라
7. 他的政權與平安必加增無窮。他必在大衛的寶座上治理他的國，以公平公義使國堅定穩固，從今直到永遠。萬軍耶和華的熱心必成就這事。
8 The Lord has sent a message against Jacob; it will fall on Israel.
8 주께서 야곱에게 말씀을 보내시며 그것을 이스라엘에게 임하게 하셨은즉
8. 主使一言入於雅各家，落於以色列家。
9 All the people will know it--Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria--who say with pride and arrogance of heart,
9 모든 백성 곧 에브라임과 사마리아 주민이 알 것이어늘 그들이 교만하고 완악한 마음으로 말하기를
9. 這衆百姓，就是以法蓮和撒瑪利亞的居民，都要知道；他們憑驕傲自大的心說：
10 "The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars."
10 벽돌이 무너졌으나 우리는 다듬은 돌로 쌓고 뽕나무들이 찍혔으나 우리는 백향목으로 그것을 대신하리라 하는도다
10. 磚牆塌了，我們卻要鑿石頭建築；桑樹砍了，我們卻要換香柏樹。
11 But the LORD has strengthened Rezin's foes against them and has spurred their enemies on.
11 그러므로 여호와께서 르신의 대적들을 일으켜 그를 치게 하시며 그의 원수들을 격동시키시리니
11. 因此，耶和華要高擧利汛的敵人來攻擊以色列，並要激動以色列的仇敵。
12 Arameans from the east and Philistines from the west have devoured Israel with open mouth. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised.
12 앞에는 아람 사람이요 뒤에는 블레셋 사람이라 그들이 모두 입을 벌려 이스라엘을 삼키리라 그럴지라도 여호와의 진노가 돌아서지 아니하며 그의 손이 여전히 펴져 있으리라
12. 東有亞蘭人，西有非利士人；他們張口要呑喫以色列。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。
13 But the people have not returned to him who struck them, nor have they sought the LORD Almighty.
13 그리하여도 그 백성이 자기들을 치시는 자에게로 돌아오지 아니하며 만군의 여호와를 찾지 아니하도다
13. 這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。
14 So the LORD will cut off from Israel both head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day;
14 그러므로 여호와께서 하루 사이에 이스라엘 중에서 머리와 꼬리와 종려가지와 갈대를 끊으시리니
14. 因此，耶和華一日之間必從以色列中剪除頭與尾，棕枝與蘆葦─
15 the elders and prominent men are the head, the prophets who teach lies are the tail.
15 그 머리는 곧 장로와 존귀한 자요 꼬리는 곧 거짓말을 가르치는 선지자라
15. 長老和尊貴人就是頭，以謊言敎人的先知就是尾。
16 Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided are led astray.
16 백성을 인도하는 자가 그들을 미혹하니 인도를 받는 자들이 멸망을 당하는도다
16. 因爲，引導這百姓的使他們走錯了路；被引導的都必敗亡。
17 Therefore the Lord will take no pleasure in the young men, nor will he pity the fatherless and widows, for everyone is ungodly and wicked, every mouth speaks vileness. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised.
17 이 백성이 모두 경건하지 아니하며 악을 행하며 모든 입으로 망령되이 말하니 그러므로 주께서 그들의 장정들을 기뻐 아니하시며 그들의 고아와 과부를 긍휼히 여기지 아니하시리라 그럴지라도 여호와의 진노가 돌아서지 아니하며 그 손이 여전히 펴져 있으리라
17. 所以，主必不喜悅他們的少年人，也不憐恤他們的孤兒寡婦；因爲，各人是褻瀆的，是行惡的，並且各人的口都愚妄的話。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手伸不縮。
18 Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.
18 대저 악행은 불 타오르는 것 같으니 곧 찔레와 가시를 삼키며 빽빽한 수풀을 살라 연기가 위로 올라가게 함과 같은 것이라
18. 邪惡像火焚燒，燒滅荊棘和蒺藜，在稠密的樹林中著起來，就成爲煙柱，旋轉上騰。
19 By the wrath of the LORD Almighty the land will be scorched and the people will be fuel for the fire; no one will spare his brother.
19 만군의 여호와의 진노로 말미암아 이 땅이 불타리니 백성은 불에 섶과 같을 것이라 사람이 자기의 형제를 아끼지 아니하며
19. 因萬軍之耶和華的烈怒，地都燒遍；百姓成爲火柴；無人憐愛弟兄。
20 On the right they will devour, but still be hungry; on the left they will eat, but not be satisfied. Each will feed on the flesh of his own offspring:
20 오른쪽으로 움킬지라도 주리고 왼쪽으로 먹을지라도 배부르지 못하여 각각 자기 팔의 고기를 먹을 것이며
20. 有人右邊搶奪，仍受飢餓，左邊呑喫，仍不飽足；各人喫自己膀臂上的肉。
21 Manasseh will feed on Ephraim, and Ephraim on Manasseh; together they will turn against Judah. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised.
21 므낫세는 에브라임을, 에브라임은 므낫세를 먹을 것이요 또 그들이 합하여 유다를 치리라 그럴지라도 여호와의 진노가 돌아서지 아니하며 그의 손이 여전히 펴져 있으리라
21. 瑪拿西呑喫（或譯：攻擊；下同）以法蓮；以法蓮呑喫瑪拿西，又一同攻擊猶大。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未消；他的手仍伸不縮。
