1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
1 그리스도께서 이미 육체에 고난을 받으셨으니 너희도 같은 마음으로 갑옷을 삼으라 이는 육체의 고난을 받은 자는 죄를 그쳤음이니
1. 基督旣在肉身受苦，你們也當將這樣的心志作爲兵器，因爲在肉身受過苦的，就已經與罪斷絶了。
2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
2 그 후로는 다시 사람의 정욕을 따르지 않고 하나님의 뜻을 따라 육체의 남은 때를 살게 하려 함이라
2. 你們存這樣的心，從今以後就可以不從人的情慾，只從神的旨意在世度餘下的光陰。
3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
3 너희가 음란과 정욕과 술취함과 방탕과 향락과 무법한 우상 숭배를 하여 이방인의 뜻을 따라 행한 것은 지나간 때로 족하도다
3. 因爲往日隨從外邦人的心意行邪淫、惡慾、醉酒、荒宴、群飮，並可惡拜偶像的事，時候已經彀了。
4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.
4 이러므로 너희가 그들과 함께 그런 극한 방탕에 달음질하지 아니하는 것을 그들이 이상히 여겨 비방하나
4. 他們在這些事上，見你們不與他們同奔那放蕩無度的路，就以爲怪，毁謗你們。
5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
5 그들이 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하기로 예비하신 이에게 사실대로 고하리라
5. 他們必在那將要審判活人死人的主面前交賬。
6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
6 이를 위하여 죽은 자들에게도 복음이 전파되었으니 이는 육체로는 사람으로 심판을 받으나 영으로는 하나님을 따라 살게 하려 함이라
6. 爲此，就是死人也曾有福音傳給他們，要叫他們的肉體按著人受審判，他們的靈性卻靠神活著。
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
7 만물의 마지막이 가까이 왔으니 그러므로 너희는 정신을 차리고 근신하여 기도하라
7. 萬物的結局近了。所以，你們要謹愼自守，儆醒禱告。
8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
8 무엇보다도 뜨겁게 서로 사랑할지니 사랑은 허다한 죄를 덮느니라
8. 最要緊的是彼此切實相愛，因爲愛能遮掩許多的罪。
9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
9 서로 대접하기를 원망 없이 하고
9. 你們要互相款待，不發怨言。
10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
10 각각 은사를 받은 대로 하나님의 여러 가지 은혜를 맡은 선한 청지기 같이 서로 봉사하라
10. 各人要照所得的恩賜彼此服事，作神百般恩賜的好管家。
11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
11 만일 누가 말하려면 하나님의 말씀을 하는 것 같이 하고 누가 봉사하려면 하나님이 공급하시는 힘으로 하는 것 같이 하라 이는 범사에 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이니 그에게 영광과 권능이 세세에 무궁하도록 있느니라 아멘
11. 若有講道的，要按著神的聖言講；若有服事人的，要按著神所賜的力量服事，叫神在凡事上因耶穌基督得榮耀。來榮耀、權能都是他的，直到永永遠遠。阿們！
12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
12 사랑하는 자들아 너희를 연단 하려고 오는 불 시험을 이상한 일 당하는 것 같이 이상히 여기지 말고
12. 親愛的弟兄阿，有火煉的試驗臨到你們，不要以爲奇怪（似乎是遭遇非常的事），
13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
13 오히려 너희가 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 것으로 즐거워하라 이는 그의 영광을 나타내실 때에 너희로 즐거워하고 기뻐하게 하려 함이라
13. 倒要歡喜；因爲你們是與基督一同受苦，使你們在他榮耀顯現的時候，也可以歡喜快樂。
14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
14 너희가 그리스도의 이름으로 치욕을 당하면 복 있는 자로다 영광의 영 곧 하나님의 영이 너희 위에 계심이라
14. 你們若爲基督的名受辱罵，便是有福的；因爲神榮耀的靈常住在你們身上。
15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
15 너희 중에 누구든지 살인이나 도둑질이나 악행이나 남의 일을 간섭하는 자로 고난을 받지 말려니와
15. 你們中間卻不可有人因爲殺人、偸竊、作惡、好管閒事而受苦。
16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
16 만일 그리스도인으로 고난을 받으면 부끄러워 말고 도리어 그 이름으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라
16. 若爲作基督徒受苦，卻不要羞恥，倒要因這名歸榮耀給神。
17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
17 하나님의 집에서 심판을 시작할 때가 되었나니 만일 우리에게 먼저 하면 하나님의 복음을 순종하지 아니하는 자들의 그 마지막은 어떠하며
17. 因爲時候到了，審判要從神的家起首。若是先從我們起首，那不信從神福音的人將有何等的結局呢？
18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"
18 또 의인이 겨우 구원을 받으면 경건치 아니한 자와 죄인은 어디에 서리요
18. 若是義人僅僅得救，那不虔敬和犯罪的人將有何地可站呢？
19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
19 그러므로 하나님의 뜻대로 고난을 받는 자들은 또한 선을 행하는 가운데에 그 영혼을 미쁘신 창조주께 의탁할지어다
19. 所以那照神旨意受苦的人要一心爲善，將自己靈魂交與那信實的造化之主。
