1 What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?
1 그런즉 유대인의 나음이 무엇이며 할례의 유익이 무엇이냐
1. 這樣說來，猶太人有甚麽長處？割禮有甚麽益處呢？
2 Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.
2 범사에 많으니 우선은 그들이 하나님의 말씀을 맡았음이니라
2. 凡事大有好處：第一是神的聖言交託他們。
3 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness?
3 어떤 자들이 믿지 아니하였으면 어찌하리요 그 믿지 아니함이 하나님의 미쁘심을 폐하겠느냐
3. 卽便有不信的，這有何妨呢？難道他們的不信就廢掉神的信麽？
4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."
4 그럴 수 없느니라 사람은 다 거짓되되 오직 하나님은 참되시다 할지어다 기록된 바 주께서 주의 말씀에 의롭다 함을 얻으시고 판단 받으실 때에 이기려 하심이라 함과 같으니라
4. 斷乎不能！不如說，神是眞實的，人都是虛謊的。如經上所記：你責備人的時候，顯爲公義；被人議論的時候，以得勝。
5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)
5 그러나 우리 불의가 하나님의 의를 드러나게 하면 무슨 말 하리요 [내가 사람의 말하는 대로 말하노니] 진노를 내리시는 하나님이 불의하시냐
5. 我且照著人的常話說，我們的不義若顯出神的義來，我們可以怎麽說呢？神降怒，是他不義麽？
6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?
6 결코 그렇지 아니하니라 만일 그러하면 하나님께서 어찌 세상을 심판하시리요
6. 斷乎不是！若是這樣，神怎能審判世界呢？
7 Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?"
7 그러나 나의 거짓말로 하나님의 참되심이 더 풍성하여 그의 영광이 되었다면 어찌 내가 죄인처럼 심판을 받으리요
7. 若神的眞實，因我的虛謊越發顯出他的榮耀，爲甚麽我還受審判，好像罪人呢？
8 Why not say--as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say--"Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved.
8 또는 그러면 선을 이루기 위하여 악을 행하자 하지 않겠느냐 어떤 이들이 이렇게 비방하여 우리가 이런 말을 한다고 하니 그들은 정죄 받는 것이 마땅하니라
8. 爲甚麽不說，我們可以作惡以成善呢？這是毁謗我們的人說我們有這話。這等人定罪是該當的。
9 What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.
9 그러면 어떠하냐 우리는 나으냐 결코 아니라 유대인이나 헬라인이나 다 죄 아래에 있다고 우리가 이미 선언하였느니라
9. 這卻怎麽樣呢？我們比他們强麽？決不是的！因我們已經證明，猶太人和希利尼人都在罪惡之下。
10 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;
10 기록된 바 의인은 없나니 하나도 없으며
10. 就如經上所記：沒有義人，連一個也沒有。
11 there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
11 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없고
11. 沒有明白的；沒有尋求神的；
12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."
12 다 치우쳐 함께 무익하게 되고 선을 행하는 자는 없나니 하나도 없도다
12. 都是偏離正路，一同變爲無用。沒有行善的，連一個也沒有。
13 "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips."
13 그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤이요 그 혀로는 속임을 일삼으며 그 입술에는 독사의 독이 있고
13. 他們的喉嚨是敞開的墳墓；他們用舌頭弄詭詐，嘴唇裏有虺蛇的毒氣，
14 "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
14 그 입에는 저주와 악독이 가득하고
14. 滿口是咒罵苦毒。
15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
15 그 발은 피 흘리는데 빠른지라
15. 殺人流血，他們的脚飛跑，
16 ruin and misery mark their ways,
16 파멸과 고생이 그 길에 있어
16. 所經過的路便行殘害暴虐的事。
17 and the way of peace they do not know."
17 평강의 길을 알지 못하였고
17. 平安的路，他們未曾知道；
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
18 그들의 눈 앞에 하나님을 두려워함이 없느니라
18. 他們眼中不怕神。
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
19 우리가 알거니와 무릇 율법이 말하는 바는 율법 아래에 있는 자들에게 말하는 것이니 이는 모든 입을 막고 온 세상으로 하나님의 심판 아래에 있게 하려 함이라
19. 我們曉得律法上的話都是對律法以下之人說的，好塞住各人的口，叫普世的人都伏在神審判之下。
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
20 그러므로 율법의 행위로 그의 앞에 의롭다 하심을 얻을 육체가 없나니 율법으로는 죄를 깨달음이니라
20. 所以凡有血氣的，沒有一個因行律法能在神面前稱義，因爲律法本是叫人知罪。
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
21 이제는 율법 외에 하나님의 한 의가 나타났으니 율법과 선지자들에게 증거를 받은 것이라
21. 但如今，神的義在律法以外已經顯明出來，有律法和先知爲證：
22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,
22 곧 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 모든 믿는 자에게 미치는 하나님의 의니 차별이 없느니라
22. 就是神的義，因信耶穌基督加給一切相信的人，並沒有分別。
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
23 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니
23. 因爲世人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀；
24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
24 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라
24. 如今卻蒙神的恩典，因基督耶穌的救贖，就白白的稱義。
25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--
25 이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암아 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님께서 길이 참으시는 중에 전에 지은 죄를 간과하심으로 자기의 의로우심을 나타내려 하심이니
25. 神設立耶穌作挽回祭，是憑著耶穌的血，藉著人的信，要顯明神的義；因爲他用忍耐的心寬容人先時所犯的罪，
26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
26 곧 이 때에 자기의 의로우심을 나타내사 자기도 의로우시며 또한 예수를 믿는 자를 의롭다 하려 하심이라
26. 好在今時顯明他的義，使人知道他自己爲義，也稱信耶穌的人爲義。
27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith.
27 그런즉 자랑할 데가 어디냐 있을 수가 없느니라 무슨 법으로냐 행위로냐 아니라 오직 믿음의 법으로니라
27. 旣是這樣，那裏能誇口呢？沒有可誇的了。用何法沒有的呢？是用立功之法麽？不是，乃用信主之法。
28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.
28 그러므로 사람이 의롭다 하심을 얻는 것은 율법의 행위에 있지 않고 믿음으로 되는 줄 우리가 인정하노라
28. 所以（有古卷：因爲）我們看定了：人稱義是因著信，不在乎遵行律法。
29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
29 하나님은 다만 유대인의 하나님이시냐 또한 이방인의 하나님은 아니시냐 진실로 이방인의 하나님도 되시느니라
29. 難道神只作猶太人的神麽？不也是作外邦人的神麽？是的，也作外邦人的神。
30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
30 할례자도 믿음으로 말미암아 또한 무할례자도 믿음으로 말미암아 의롭다 하실 하나님은 한 분이시니라
30. 神旣是一位，他就要因信稱那受割禮的爲義，也要因信稱那未受割禮的爲義。
31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
31 그런즉 우리가 믿음으로 말미암아 율법을 파기하느냐 그럴 수 없느니라 도리어 율법을 굳게 세우느니라
31. 這樣，我們因信廢了律法麽？斷乎不是！更是堅固律法。
