1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
1 저녁때에 그 두 천사가 소돔에 이르니 마침 롯이 소돔 성문에 앉아 있다가 그들을 보고 일어나 영접하고 땅에 엎드려 절하며
1. 那兩個天使晩上到了所多瑪；羅得正坐在所多瑪城門口，看見他們，就起來迎接，臉伏於地下拜，
2 "My lords," he said, "please turn aside to your servant's house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning." "No," they answered, "we will spend the night in the square."
2 이르되 내 주여 돌이켜 종의 집으로 들어와 발을 씻고 주무시고 일찍이 일어나 갈 길을 가소서 그들이 이르되 아니라 우리가 거리에서 밤을 새우리라
2. 說：我主阿，請你們到僕人家裏洗洗脚，住一夜，淸早起來再走。他們說：不！我們要在街上過夜。
3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate.
3 롯이 간청하매 그제서야 돌이켜 그 집으로 들어오는지라 롯이 그들을 위하여 식탁을 베풀고 무교병을 구우니 그들이 먹으니라
3. 羅得切切的請他們，他們這纔進去，到他屋裏。羅得爲他們豫備筵席，烤無酵餅，他們就喫了。
4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house.
4 그들이 눕기 전에 그 성 사람 곧 소돔 백성들이 노소를 막론하고 원근에서 다 모여 그 집을 에워싸고
4. 他們還沒有躺下，所多瑪城裏各處的人，連老帶少，都來圍住那房子，
5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them."
5 롯을 부르고 그에게 이르되 오늘밤에 네게 온 사람들이 어디 있느냐 이끌어 내라 우리가 그들을 상관하리라
5. 呼叫羅得說：今日晩上到你這裏來的人在那裏呢？把他們帶出來，任我們所爲。
6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him
6 롯이 문 밖의 무리에게로 나가서 뒤로 문을 닫고
6. 羅得出來，把門關上，到衆人那裏，
7 and said, "No, my friends. Don't do this wicked thing.
7 이르되 청하노니 내 형제들아 이런 악을 행하지 말라
7. 說：衆弟兄，請你們不要作這惡事。
8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."
8 내게 남자를 가까이 하지 아니한 두 딸이 있노라 청하건대 내가 그들을 너희에게로 이끌어 내리니 너희 눈에 좋을 대로 그들에게 행하고 이 사람들은 내 집에 들어왔은즉 이 사람들에게는 아무 일도 저지르지 말라
9 "Get out of our way," they replied. And they said, "This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! We'll treat you worse than them." They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.
9 그들이 이르되 너는 물러나라 또 이르되 이 자가 들어와서 거류하면서 우리의 법관이 되려 하는도다 이제 우리가 그들보다 너를 더 해하리라 하고 롯을 밀치며 가까이 가서 그 문을 부수려고 하는지라
9. 衆人說：退去罷！又說：這個人來寄居，還想要作官那！現在我們要害你比害他們更甚。衆人就向前擁擠羅得，攻破房門。
10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door.
10 그 사람들이 손을 내밀어 롯을 집으로 끌어들이고 문을 닫고
10. 只是那二人伸出手來，將羅得拉進屋去，把門關上，
11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.
11 문 밖의 무리를 대소를 막론하고 그 눈을 어둡게 하니 그들이 문을 찾느라고 헤매었더라
11. 並且使門外的人，無論老少，眼都昏迷；他們摸來摸去，總尋不著房門。
12 The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here--sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here,
12 그 사람들이 롯에게 이르되 이외에 네게 속한 자가 또 있느냐 네 사위나 자녀나 성 중에 네게 속한 자들을 다 성 밖으로 이끌어 내라
12. 二人對羅得說：你這裏還有甚麽人麽？無論是女婿是兒女，和這城中一切屬你的人，你都要將他們從這地方帶出。
13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."
13 그들에 대한 부르짖음이 여호와 앞에 크므로 여호와께서 이 곳을 멸하시려고 우리를 보내셨나니 우리가 멸하리라
13. 我們要燬滅這地方；因爲城內罪惡的聲音在耶和華面前甚大，耶和華差我們來，要燬滅這地方。
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, "Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!" But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
14 롯이 나가서 그 딸들과 결혼할 사위들에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와께서 이 성을 멸하실 터이니 너희는 일어나 이 곳에서 떠나라 하되 그의 사위들은 농담으로 여겼더라
14. 羅得就出去，告訴娶了【或作將要娶】他女兒的女婿們說：你們起來離開這地方，因爲耶和華要燬滅這城。他女們卻以爲他說的是戱言。
15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished."
15 동틀 때에 천사가 롯을 재촉하여 이르되 일어나 여기 있는 네 아내와 두 딸을 이끌어 내라 이 성의 죄악 중에 함께 멸망할까 하노라
15. 天明了，天使催逼羅得說：起來！帶著你的妻子和你在這裏的兩個女兒出去，免得你因這城裏的罪惡同被剿滅。
16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them.
16 그러나 롯이 지체하매 그 사람들이 롯의 손과 그 아내의 손과 두 딸의 손을 잡아 인도하여 성 밖에 두니 여호와께서 그에게 자비를 더하심이었더라
16. 但羅得遲延不走。二人因爲耶和華憐恤羅得，就拉著他的手和他妻子的手，並他兩個女兒的手，把他們領出來，置在城外；
17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!"
17 그 사람들이 그들을 밖으로 이끌어 낸 후에 이르되 도망하여 생명을 보존하라 돌아보거나 들에 머물지 말고 산으로 도망하여 멸망함을 면하라
17. 領他們出來以後，就說：逃命罷！不可回頭看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿滅。
18 But Lot said to them, "No, my lords, please!
18 롯이 그들에게 이르되 내 주여 그리 마옵소서
18. 羅得對他們說：我主阿，不要如此！
19 Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can't flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I'll die.
19 주의 종이 주께 은혜를 입었고 주께서 큰 인자를 내게 베푸사 내 생명을 구원하시오나 내가 도망하여 산에까지 갈 수 없나이다 두렵건대 재앙을 만나 죽을까 하나이다
19. 你僕人已經在你眼前蒙恩；你又向我顯出莫大的慈愛，救我的性命。我不能逃到山上去，恐怕這災禍臨到我，我死了。
20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it--it is very small, isn't it? Then my life will be spared."
20 보소서 저 성읍은 도망하기에 가깝고 작기도 하오니 나를 그 곳으로 도망하게 하소서 이는 작은 성읍이 아니니이까 내 생명이 보존되리이다
20. 看那，這座城又小又近，容易逃到，這不是一個小的麽？求你容我逃到那裏，我的性命就得存活。
21 He said to him, "Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of.
21 그가 그에게 이르되 내가 이 일에도 네 소원을 들었은즉 네가 말하는 그 성읍을 멸하지 아니하리니
21. 天使對他說：這事我也應允你；我不傾覆你所說的這城。
22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it." (That is why the town was called Zoar.)
22 그리로 속히 도망하라 네가 거기 이르기까지는 내가 아무 일도 행할 수 없노라 하였더라 그러므로 그 성읍 이름을 소알이라 불렀더라
22. 你要速速地逃到那城；因爲你還沒有到那裏，我不能作甚麽。因此那城名叫瑣珥【就是小的意思】。
23 By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land.
23 롯이 소알에 들어갈 때에 해가 돋았더라
23. 羅得到了瑣珥，日頭已經出來了。
24 Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--from the LORD out of the heavens.
24 여호와께서 하늘 곧 여호와께로부터 유황과 불을 소돔과 고모라에 비같이 내리사
24. 當時，耶和華將硫磺與火從天上耶和華那裏降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉，
25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities--and also the vegetation in the land.
25 그 성들과 온 들과 성에 거주하는 모든 백성과 땅에 난 것을 다 엎어 멸하셨더라
25. 把那些城和全平原，並城裏所有的居民，連地上生長的，都燬滅了。
26 But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
26 롯의 아내는 뒤를 돌아보았으므로 소금 기둥이 되었더라
26. 羅得的妻子在後邊回頭一看，就變成了一根鹽柱。
27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
27 아브라함이 그 아침에 일찍이 일어나 여호와 앞에 서 있던 곳에 이르러
27. 亞伯拉罕淸早起來，到了他從前站在耶和華面前的地方，
28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.
28 소돔과 고모라와 그 온 지역을 향하여 눈을 들어 연기가 옹기가마의 연기같이 치솟음을 보았더라
28. 向所多瑪和蛾摩拉與平原的全地觀看，不料，那地方煙氣上騰，如同燒窯一般。
29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.
29 하나님이 그 지역의 성을 멸하실 때 곧 롯이 거주하는 성을 엎으실 때에 하나님이 아브라함을 생각하사 롯을 그 엎으시는 중에서 내보내셨더라
29. 當神燬滅平原諸城的時候，他記念亞伯拉罕，正在傾覆羅得所住之城的時候，就打發羅得從傾覆之中出來。
30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave.
30 롯이 소알에 거주하기를 두려워하여 두 딸과 함께 소알에서 나와 산에 올라가 거주하되 그 두 딸과 함께 굴에 거주하였더니
30. 羅得因爲怕住在瑣珥，就同他兩個女兒從瑣珥上去，住在山裏；他和兩個女兒住在一個洞裏。
31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth.
31 큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되 우리 아버지는 늙으셨고 온 세상의 도리를 따라 우리의 배필 될 사람이 이 땅에는 없으니
31. 大女兒對小女兒說：我們的父親老了，地上又無人按著世上的常規進到我們這裏。
32 Let's get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father."
32 우리가 우리 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 동침하여 우리 아버지로 말미암아 후손을 이어가자 하고
32. 來！我們可以叫父親喝酒，與他同寢。這樣，我們好從他存留後裔。
33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and lay with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
33 그 밤에 그들이 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 큰 딸이 들어가서 그 아버지와 동침하니라 그러나 그 아버지는 그 딸이 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라
33. 於是，那夜他們叫父親喝酒，大女兒就進去和他父親同寢；他幾時躺下，幾時起來，父親都不知道。
34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, "Last night I lay with my father. Let's get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him so we can preserve our family line through our father."
34 이튿날 큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되 어제 밤에는 내가 우리 아버지와 동침하였으니 오늘밤에도 우리가 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 네가 들어가 동침하고 우리가 아버지로 말미암아 후손을 이어가자 하고
34. 第二天，大女兒對小女兒說：我昨夜與父親同寢。今夜我們再叫他喝酒，你可以進去與他同寢。這樣，我們好從親存留後裔。
35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went and lay with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
35 그 밤에도 그들이 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 작은 딸이 일어나 아버지와 동침하니라 그러나 아버지는 그 딸이 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라
35. 於是，那夜他們又叫父親喝酒，小女兒起來與他父親同寢；他幾時躺下，幾時起來，父親都不知道。
36 So both of Lot's daughters became pregnant by their father.
36 롯의 두 딸이 아버지로 말미암아 임신하고
36. 這樣，羅得的兩個女兒都從他父親懷了孕。
37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites of today.
37 큰 딸은 아들을 낳아 이름을 모압이라 하였으니 오늘날 모압의 조상이요
37. 大女兒生了兒子，給他起名叫摩押，就是現今摩押人的始祖。
38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the Ammonites of today.
38 작은 딸도 아들을 낳아 이름을 벤암미라 하였으니 오늘날 암몬 자손의 조상이었더라
38. 小女兒也生了兒子，給他起名叫便亞米，就是現今亞捫人的始祖。
8. 我有兩個女兒，還是處女，容我領出來，任憑你們的心願而行；只是這兩個人旣然到我舍下，不要向他們作甚麽。
