1 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life.
1 그 후에 예수께서 갈릴리에서 다니시고 유대에서 다니려 아니하심은 유대인들이 죽이려 함이러라
1. 這事以後，耶穌在加利利遊行，不願在猶太遊行，因爲猶太人想要殺他。
2 But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near,
2 유대인의 명절인 초막절이 가까운지라
2. 當時猶太人的住棚節近了。
3 Jesus' brothers said to him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do.
3 그 형제들이 예수께 이르되 당신이 행하는 일을 제자들도 보게 여기를 떠나 유대로 가소서
3. 耶穌的弟兄就對他說：你離開這裏上猶太去罷，叫你的門徒也看見你所行的事。
4 No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world."
4 스스로 나타나기를 구하면서 묻혀서 일하는 사람이 없나니 이 일을 행하려 하거든 자신을 세상에 나타내소서 하니
4. 人要顯揚名聲，沒有在暗處行事的；你如果行這些事，就當將自己顯明給世人看。
5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him.
5 이는 그 형제들까지도 예수를 믿지 아니함이러라
5. 因爲連他的弟兄說這話，是因爲不信他。
6 Therefore Jesus told them, "The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right.
6 예수께서 이르시되 내 때는 아직 이르지 아니하였거니와 너희 때는 늘 준비되어 있느니라
6. 耶穌就對他們說：我的時候還沒有到；你們的時候常是方便的。
7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.
7 세상이 너희를 미워하지 아니하되 나를 미워하나니 이는 내가 세상의 일들을 악하다고 증언함이라
7. 世人不能恨你們，卻是恨我，因爲我指證他們所作的事是惡的。
8 You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come."
8 너희는 명절에 올라가라 내 때가 아직 차지 못하였으니 나는 이 명절에 아직 올라가지 아니하노라
8. 你們上去過節罷，我現在不上去過這節，因爲我的時候還沒有滿。
9 Having said this, he stayed in Galilee.
9 이 말씀을 하시고 갈릴리에 머물러 계시니라
9. 耶穌說了這話，仍舊住在加利利。
10 However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.
10 그 형제들이 명절에 올라간 후에 자기도 올라가시되 나타내지 않고 은밀히 가시니라
10. 但他弟兄上去以後，他也上去過節，不是明去，似乎是暗去的。
11 Now at the Feast the Jews were watching for him and asking, "Where is that man?"
11 명절 중에 유대인들이 예수를 찾으면서 그가 어디 있느냐 하고
11. 正在節期，猶太人尋找耶穌，說：他在那裏？
12 Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people."
12 예수께 대하여 무리 중에서 수군거림이 많아 어떤 사람은 좋은 사람이라 하며 어떤 사람은 아니라 무리를 미혹한다 하나
12. 衆人爲他紛紛議論，有的說：他是好人。有的說：不然，他是迷惑衆人的。
13 But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the Jews.
13 그러나 유대인들을 두려워하므로 드러나게 그에 대하여 말하는 자가 없더라
13. 只是沒有人明明的講論他，因爲怕猶太人。
14 Not until halfway through the Feast did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach.
14 이미 명절의 중간이 되어 예수께서 성전에 올라가사 가르치시니
14. 到了節期，耶穌上殿裏去敎訓人。
15 The Jews were amazed and asked, "How did this man get such learning without having studied?"
15 유대인들이 놀랍게 여겨 이르되 이 사람은 배우지 아니하였거늘 어떻게 글을 아느냐 하니
15. 猶太人就希奇，說：這個人沒有學過，怎麽明白書呢？
16 Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.
16 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내 교훈은 내 것이 아니요 나를 보내신 이의 것이니라
16. 耶穌說：我的敎訓不是我自己的，乃是那差我來者的。
17 If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.
17 사람이 하나님의 뜻을 행하려 하면 이 교훈이 하나님께로부터 왔는지 내가 스스로 말함인지 알리라
17. 人若立志遵著他的旨意行，就必曉得這敎訓或是出於神，或是我憑著自己說的。
18 He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
18 스스로 말하는 자는 자기 영광만 구하되 보내신 이의 영광을 구하는 자는 참되니 그 속에 불의가 없느니라
18. 人憑著自己說，是求自己的榮耀；惟有求那差他來者的榮耀，這人是眞的，在他心裏沒有不義。
19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?"
19 모세가 너희에게 율법을 주지 아니하였느냐 너희 중에 율법을 지키는 자가 없도다 너희가 어찌하여 나를 죽이려 하느냐
19. 摩西豈不是傳律法給你們麽？你們卻沒有一個人守律法。爲甚麽想要殺我呢？
20 "You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered. "Who is trying to kill you?"
20 무리가 대답하되 당신은 귀신이 들렸도다 누가 당신을 죽이려 하나이까
20. 衆人回答說：你是被鬼附著了！誰想要殺你？
21 Jesus said to them, "I did one miracle, and you are all astonished.
21 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내가 한 가지 일을 행하매 너희가 다 이로 말미암아 이상히 여기는도다
21. 耶穌說：我作了一件事，你們都以爲希奇。
22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a child on the Sabbath.
22 모세가 너희에게 할례를 행했으니 (그러나 할례는 모세에게서 난 것이 아니요 조상들에게서 난 것이라) 그러므로 너희가 안식일에도 사람에게 할례를 행하느니라
22. 摩西傳割禮給你們（其實不是從摩西起的，乃是從祖先起的），因此你們也在安息日給人行割禮。
23 Now if a child can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath?
23 모세의 율법을 범하지 아니하려고 사람이 안식일에도 할례를 받는 일이 있거든 내가 안식일에 사람의 전신을 건전하게 한 것으로 너희가 내게 노여워하느냐
23. 人若在安息日受割禮，免得違背摩西的律法，我在安息日叫一個人全然好了，你們就向我生氣麽？
24 Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."
24 외모로 판단하지 말고 공의롭게 판단하라 하시니라
24. 不可按外貌斷定是非，總要按公平斷定是非。
25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, "Isn't this the man they are trying to kill?
25 예루살렘 사람 중에서 어떤 사람이 말하되 이는 그들이 죽이고자 하는 그 사람이 아니냐
25. 耶路撒冷人中有的說：這不是他們想要殺的人麽？
26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Christ?
26 보라 드러나게 말하되 그들이 아무 말도 아니하는도다 당국자들은 이 사람을 참으로 그리스도인 줄 알았는가
26. 你看他還明明的講道，他們也不向他說甚麽，難道官長眞知道這是基督麽？
27 But we know where this man is from; when the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from."
27 그러나 우리는 이 사람이 어디서 왔는지 아노라 그리스도께서 오실 때에는 어디서 오시는지 아는 자가 없으리라 하는지라
27. 然而，我們知道這個人從那裏來；只是基督來的時候，沒有人知道他從那裏來。
28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, "Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him,
28 예수께서 성전에서 가르치시며 외쳐 이르시되 너희가 나를 알고 내가 어디서 온 것도 알거니와 내가 스스로 온 것이 아니니라 나를 보내신 이는 참되시니 너희는 그를 알지 못하나
28. 那時，耶穌在殿裏敎訓人，大聲說：你們也知道我，也知道我從那裏來；我來並不是由於自己。但那差我來的是的。你們不認識他，
29 but I know him because I am from him and he sent me."
29 나는 아노니 이는 내가 그에게서 났고 그가 나를 보내셨음이라 하시니
29. 我卻認識他；因爲我是從他來的，他也是差了我來。
30 At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come.
30 그들이 예수를 잡고자 하나 손을 대는 자가 없으니 이는 그의 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였음이러라
30. 他們就想要捉拿耶穌；只是沒有人下手，因爲他的時候還沒有到。
31 Still, many in the crowd put their faith in him. They said, "When the Christ comes, will he do more miraculous signs than this man?"
31 무리 중의 많은 사람이 예수를 믿고 말하되 그리스도께서 오실지라도 그 행하실 표적이 이 사람이 행한 것보다 더 많으랴 하니
31. 但衆人中間有好些信他的，說：基督來的時候，他所行的神蹟豈能比這人所行的更多麽？
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.
32 예수께 대하여 무리가 수군거리는 것이 바리새인들에게 들린지라 대제사장들과 바리새인들이 그를 잡으려고 아랫사람들을 보내니
32. 法利賽人聽見衆人爲耶穌這樣紛紛議論，祭司長和法利賽人就打發差役去捉拿他。
33 Jesus said, "I am with you for only a short time, and then I go to the one who sent me.
33 예수께서 이르시되 내가 너희와 함께 조금 더 있다가 나를 보내신 이에게로 돌아가겠노라
33. 於是耶穌說：我還有不多的時候和你們同在，以後就回到差我來的那裏去。
34 You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come."
34 너희가 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 터이요 나 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라 하시니
34. 你們要找我，卻找不著；我所在的地方你們不能到。
35 The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
35 이에 유대인들이 서로 묻되 이 사람이 어디로 가기에 우리가 그를 만나지 못하리요 헬라인 중에 흩어져 사는 자들에게로 가서 헬라인을 가르칠 터인가
35. 猶太人就彼此對問說：這人要往那裏去，叫我們找不著呢？難道他要往散住希利尼中的猶太人那裏去敎訓希利尼麽？
36 What did he mean when he said, 'You will look for me, but you will not find me,' and'Where I am, you cannot come'?"
36 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 터이요 나 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라 한 이 말이 무슨 말이냐 하니라
36. 他說：你們要找我，卻找不著；我所在的地方，你們不能到，這話是甚麽意思呢？
37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
37 명절 끝날 곧 큰 날에 예수께서 서서 외쳐 이르시되 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라
37. 節期的末日，就是最大之日，耶穌站著高聲說：人若渴了，可以到我這裏來喝。
38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."
38 나를 믿는 자는 성경에 이름과 같이 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라 하시니
38. 信我的人就如經上所說：從他腹中要流出活水的江河來。
39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
39 이는 그를 믿는 자들이 받을 성령을 가리켜 말씀하신 것이라 (예수께서 아직 영광을 받지 않으셨으므로 성령이 아직 그들에게 계시지 아니하시더라)
39. 耶穌這話是指著信他之人要受聖靈說的。那時還沒有賜下聖靈來，因爲耶穌尙未得著榮耀。
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, "Surely this man is the Prophet."
40 이 말씀을 들은 무리 중에서 어떤 사람은 이 사람이 참으로 그 선지자라 하며
40. 衆人聽見這話，有的說：這眞是那先知。
41 Others said, "He is the Christ." Still others asked, "How can the Christ come from Galilee?
41 어떤 사람은 그리스도라 하며 어떤 이들은 그리스도가 어찌 갈릴리에서 나오겠느냐
41. 有的說：這是基督。但也有的說：基督豈是從加利利出來的麽？
42 Does not the Scripture say that the Christ will come from David's family and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?"
42 성경에 이르기를 그리스도는 다윗의 씨로 또 다윗의 살던 마을 베들레헴에서 나오리라 하지 아니하였느냐 하며
42. 經上豈不是說基督是大衛的後裔，從大衛本鄕伯利恆出來的麽？
43 Thus the people were divided because of Jesus.
43 예수로 말미암아 무리 중에서 쟁론이 되니
43. 於是衆人因著耶穌起了分爭。
44 Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.
44 그 중에는 그를 잡고자 하는 자들도 있으나 손을 대는 자가 없었더라
44. 其中有人要捉拿他，只是無人下手。
45 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn't you bring him in?"
45 아랫사람들이 대제사장들과 바리새인들에게로 오니 그들이 묻되 어찌하여 잡아오지 아니하였느냐
45. 差役回到祭司長和法利賽人那裏。他們對差役說；你們爲甚麽沒有帶他來呢？
46 "No one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards declared.
46 아랫사람들이 대답하되 그 사람이 말하는 것처럼 말한 사람은 이때까지 없었나이다 하니
46. 差役回答說：從來沒有像他這樣說話的！
47 "You mean he has deceived you also?" the Pharisees retorted.
47 바리새인들이 대답하되 너희도 미혹되었느냐
47. 法利賽人說：你們也受了迷惑麽？
48 "Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?
48 당국자들이나 바리새인 중에 그를 믿는 자가 있느냐
48. 官長或是法利賽人豈有信他的呢？
49 No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law--there is a curse on them."
49 율법을 알지 못하는 이 무리는 저주를 받은 자로다
49. 但這些不明白律法的百姓是被咒詛的！
50 Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked,
50 그 중의 한 사람 곧 전에 예수께 왔던 니고데모가 그들에게 말하되
50. 內中有尼哥底母，就是從前去見耶穌的，對他們說：
51 "Does our law condemn anyone without first hearing him to find out what he is doing?"
51 우리 율법은 사람의 말을 듣고 그 행한 것을 알기 전에 심판하느냐
51. 不先聽本人的口供，不知道他所作的事，難道我們的律法還定他的罪麽？
52 They replied, "Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee." The earliest and most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8:11.
52 그들이 대답하여 이르되 너도 갈릴리에서 왔느냐 찾아 보라 갈릴리에서는 선지자가 나지 못하느니라 하였더라
52. 他們回答說：你也是出於加利利麽？你且去査考，就可知道加利利沒有出過先知。
53 (다 각각 집으로 돌아가고)
53 Then each went to his own home.
53. （於是各人都回家去了。）〔和合本倂譯於第八章第一節〕
