1 Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word."
1 길르앗에 우거하는 자 중에 디셉 사람 엘리야가 아합에게 말하되 내가 섬기는 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 내 말이 없으면 수 년 동안 비도 이슬도 있지 아니하리라 하니라
1. 基列寄居的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：我指著所事奉永生耶和華─以色列的神起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降，不下雨。
2 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:
2 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되
2. 耶和華的話臨到以利亞說：
3 "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.
3 너는 여기서 떠나 동쪽으로 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 숨고
3. 你離開這裏往東去，藏在約但河東邊的基立溪旁。
4 You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."
4 그 시냇물을 마시라 내가 까마귀들에게 명령하여 거기서 너를 먹이게 하리라
4. 你要喝那溪裏的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裏供養你。
5 So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.
5 그가 여호와의 말씀과 같이 하여 곧 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 머물매
5. 於是以利亞照著耶和華的話，去住在約但河東的基立溪旁。
6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
6 까마귀들이 아침에도 떡과 고기를, 저녁에도 떡과 고기를 가져 왔고 그가 시냇물을 마셨으나
6. 烏鴉早晩給他叼餅和肉來，他也喝那溪裏的水。
7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.
7 땅에 비가 내리지 아니하므로 얼 마 후에 그 시내가 마르니라
7. 過了些日子，溪水就乾了，因爲雨沒有下在地上。
8 Then the word of the LORD came to him:
8 여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되
8. 耶和華的話臨到他說：
9 "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food."
9 너는 일어나 시돈에 속한 사르밧으로 가서 거기 머물라 내가 그 곳 과부에게 명령하여 네게 음식을 주게 하였느니라
9. 你起身往西頓的撒勒法【撒勒法與路四26同】去，住在那裏；我已吩咐那裏的一個寡婦供養你。
10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?"
10 그가 일어나 사르밧으로 가서 성문에 이를 때에 한 과부가 그 곳에서 나뭇가지를 줍는지라 이에 불러 이르되 청하건대 그릇에 물을 조금 가져다가 내가 마시게 하라
10. 以利亞就起身往撒勒法去。到了城門，見有一個寡婦在那裏撿柴，以利亞呼叫他說：求你用器皿取點水來給我喝。
11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."
11 그가 가지러 갈 때에 엘리야가 그를 불러 이르되 청하건대 네 손의 떡 한 조각을 내게로 가져오라
11. 他去取水的時候，以利亞又呼叫他說：也求你拿點餅來給我！
12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread--only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it--and die."
12 그가 이르되 당신의 하나님 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 나는 떡이 없고 다만 통에 가루 한 움큼과 병에 기름 조금 뿐이라 내가 나뭇가지 둘을 주워 다가 나와 내 아들을 위하여 음식을 만들어 먹고 그 후에는 죽으리라
12. 他說：我指著永生耶和華─你的神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，甁裏只有一點油；我現在找兩根柴，回家爲我和我兒子作餅；我們喫了，死就死罷！
13 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.
13 엘리야가 그에게 이르되 두려워하지 말고 가서 네 말대로 하려니와 먼저 그것으로 나를 위하여 작은 떡 한 개를 만들어 내게로 가져오고 그 후에 너와 네 아들을 위하여 만들라
13. 以利亞對他說：不要懼怕！可以照你所說的去作罷！只要先爲我作一個小餅拿來給我，然後爲你和你的兒子作餅。
14 For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'"
14 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 나 여호와가 비를 지면에 내리는 날까지 그 통의 가루가 떨어지지 아니하고 그 병의 기름이 없어지지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
14. 因爲耶和華─以色列的神如此說：罈內的麵必不減少，甁裏的油必不缺短，直到耶和華使雨降在地上的日子。
15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.
15 그가 가서 엘리야의 말대로 하였더니 그와 엘리야와 그의 식구가 여러 날 먹었으나
15. 婦人就照以利亞的話去行。他和他家中的人，並以利亞，喫了許多日子。
16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.
16 여호와께서 엘리야를 통하여 하신 말씀 같이 통의 가루가 떨어지지 아니하고 병의 기름이 없어지지 아니하니라
16. 罈內的麵果不減少，甁裏的油也不缺短，正如耶和華藉以利亞所說的話。
17 Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing.
17 이 일 후에 그 집 주인 되는 여인의 아들이 병들어 증세가 심히 위중하다가 숨이 끊어진지라
17. 這事以後，作那家主母的婦人，他兒子病了；病得甚重，以致身無氣息。
18 She said to Elijah, "What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"
18 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여 당신이 나와 더불어 무슨 상관이 있기로 내 죄를 생각나게 하고 또 내 아들을 죽게 하려고 내게 오셨나이까
18. 婦人對以利亞說：神人那，我與你何干？你竟到我這裏來，使神想念我的罪，以致我的兒子死呢？
19 "Give me your son," Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.
19 엘리야가 그에게 그의 아들을 달라 하여 그를 그 여인의 품에서 받아 안고 자기가 거처하는 다락에 올라가서 자기 침상에 누이고
19. 以利亞對他說：把你兒子交給我。以利亞就從婦人懷中將孩子接過來，抱到他所住的樓中，放在自己的床上，
20 Then he cried out to the LORD, "O LORD my God, have you brought tragedy also upon this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?"
20 여호와께 부르짖어 이르되 내 하나님 여호와여 주께서 또 내가 우거하는 집 과부에게 재앙을 내리사 그 아들이 죽게 하셨나이까 하고
20. 就求告耶和華說：耶和華─我的神阿，我寄居在這寡婦的家裏，你就降禍與他，使他的兒子死了麽？
21 Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, let this boy's life return to him!"
21 그 아이 위에 몸을 세 번 펴서 엎드리고 여호와께 부르짖어 이르되 내 하나님 여호와여 원하건대 이 아이의 혼으로 그의 몸에 돌아오게 하옵소서 하니
21. 以利亞三次伏在孩子的身上，求告耶和華說：耶和華─我的神阿，求你使這孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體！
22 The LORD heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.
22 여호와께서 엘리야의 소리를 들으시므로 그 아이의 혼이 몸으로 돌아오고 살아난지라
22. 耶和華應允以利亞的話，孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體，他就活了。
23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, "Look, your son is alive!"
23 엘리야가 그 아이를 안고 다락에서 방으로 내려가서 그의 어머니에게 주며 이르되 보라 네 아들이 살아났느니라
23. 以利亞將孩子從樓上抱下來，進屋子交給他母親，說：看那，你的兒子活了！
24 Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth."
24 여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 내가 이제야 당신은 하나님의 사람이시요 당신의 입에 있는 여호와의 말씀이 진실한 줄 아노라 하니라
24. 婦人對以利亞說：現在我知道你是神人，耶和華藉你口所說的話是眞的。
